I just saw this pop up on steam and it has more weapons plus 6 player co-op, is anyone going to buy this? I might get it since it is like 14 bucks for pre order.

Doesn't seem too appealing to me. Also, why must there always be a chainsaw man in these kind of games?
It's way too cliche...
-
What you would rather let him have a leaf blower instead, lol... Well this is originally a mod for UT2004, now they made it better and into a retail game. It is made by the same people who did RO. This is purely a co-op game and from the forum it is no l4d comparison, because this is kind of different than what L4D does.
-
I don't really get it, is it trying to be a coop version of Painkiller? From the video I have no idea what the game will be like or what it's about. And if there were deadly leaf blower carrying zombies, I'd probably buy it.
-
Now that you mention it, it does seem a bit like Painkiller. Leaf blower zombies... If only developers thought of it properly. Better yet, why not give them flamethrowers? Or rocket launchers?
-
Guys check out this exclusive gameplay in HD, man I am excited to play this game tomorrow!

This looks very nice but 1st few screens look alot like House of the Dead to me ^_^ I will wait to hear some reviews before getting the game.
-
So...the floor...kills?
They need to put some "wet floor" signs up... -
Perhaps, I am used to L4D's smooth animation for the characters, but when I looked at the video for this game, the first thing that pop into my head was: god those models looks like they are from Counter Strike 1.6 made in 2006.
Edit: and it looks like you are just killing waves of zombies, doesn't look very interesting. -
Yea this is base off of the Unreal 2.5 engine and yea its just waves of monsters, but you have different classes and upgrades, etc. Its kind of like Call of Duty World at War zombie mode, but better! Its only $14.99 and so you can't go wrong, but if you like killing monsters with 6 friends then its for you.
-
ill be getting it
20 bucks now :[ -

I wont get it anytime soon but maybe will pick it up when left 4 dead gets old.
It seems really bad honestly from the videos I have seen, almost like old doom style, but that may end up making it attractive to me
If you had friends to play it with that would make it better but I will be relying on PUG.... -
ViciousXUSMC add me to steam my name is masterofthetides
I'm thinking of getting the killing floor as its 15 bucks whatever. If we both get it we can play it together.
So the game is out now.. has anyone played it and if so what do you think? -
yes, I like the "old school" style in the game also, the more i watch the videos the more i want it

I'll add you problem is my random schedule, I work overnight, watch my kids all day and try to get a cat nap between
The only time I know I can play for sure are nights like tonight, my nights off work.
PM me your steam name or the link to your profile is even better. -
Yea the game is awesome! I played on normal and it is difficult and all six players have to watch for one another to survive. Map varies, it is more like the call of duty world at war zombies with cs money systems and kind of like cod4 perks. The basic of the game is to survive each wave that is coming at you for however many rounds the server makes it and at the end you fight a big boss with a rocket/machine gun arm that turns invisible to heal. Also, at times it does the slow motion effects, which I thought was annoying but I got used to it and it was helpful in some situations. Like I keep saying it is a game to shoot hordes of monsters with your friends or other people. You really don't have to play with people you know, as long as the other people have mics its all good.
-
Huh?!
I might pick it up, your description of the game makes it sound like the 1.6 zombie mod, which I like a lot.
Also, is the human player one hit kill for zombies? Or you just die because you are overwhelmed? -
LOL, my bad, I just wanted to say you do not need people you know to enjoyed this game, random people will do find and if they have a mic makes it better.
If you put it on the hardest level yes one hit kill, but normal it will take tons of them to kill you. They come at you in massive numbers, but you will have the guns to kill them. -
ahh, I see, thanks!
I will see if I can pick it up after finals...
That invisible boss sounds kind of difficult, it is also invulnerable when it is invisible? -
any chance of the game making a retail release ? This game looks fun to be a replacement if you need a break from L4D.
-
I'm definitely getting this.
FPS + Co-op + Zombies = BUY
There's no reticle though so it might be bad for people who fail at FPS like me T_T -
Most likely not, because its made by an indie developer and associated with steam here, but if enough people buy the digital version maybe they could afford a retail version to be manufacture.
-
This game has the perfect gameplay for me...
Its incredible, the graphics arent very modern but the amazing game play more than makes up for it. Also, dont let your kids play this game!

No I would never, they are too busy watching me play Dead Space or Left 4 Dead

Money money money~~~~~~~~~

the voice acting is brilliant!
"Wayne Rooney is smarter than you!" -
I bought it and its fun, but nothing special. I don't know if its going to have any lasting appeal as there is very little content. I did see the full SDK is out so a lot of custom maps and content should come out which might keep it going for a bit longer. I am pleased to see indie developers being able to get their games out on steam not having to worry about getting the capital to manufacture the discs, manuals and boxes. I bought the game out of principle as I like to see the computer gaming industry thrive and indie developers are going to be a staple of the computer gaming scene for years to come now that steam has empowered them so much.
Good for tripwire I just hope they fix a bunch of the bugs, change a bit around and a add a bit more content as of now the game just seems a bit under polished and lacking. -
Yeah, keep in mind that the developer is a very small team unlike those of major titles, they did a fantastic job.
I think your point about little content is mute, I think there is considerably more content than Left 4 Dead which is a brilliant game in its own right. People will also get a lot less game play time out of Crysis, so...
I know many people dont like this game but I believe this is because people have become mesmorized by eye candy. Thats ok, I also like good eye candy. But this game has brilliant game play. -
I bought the game tonight, i really enjoy it so far. I'm sure their will be mods for competive play, and weapons updates, etc., that will keep this game going for a while.
-
I'm liking the game a bit more now that I've played it more and the visually don't phase me at all so thats not my complaint. I still stand by they could have put in a few more guns and perks into the game, but I do realize its a small indie developer. It looks like they are seriously considering a lot of what the community has to say so I think not only will some more official content/changes come about, but like I said the full SDK should show us some good community content. Also something that is very nice is since it is running on the Unreal 2.5 engine many people know how to mod it like the back of their hands so the community content should be pretty darn good.
I do feel like it should have been a 10 dollar game as many of the 10 dollar games on steam have more content than the Killing Floor has, but hey I bought it right so they must have done something right
-
I agree on the $10 thing, but it will be $10 eventually on some sale.
Right now though it's FREE!
For the rest of the weekend, Killing Floor can be played for free on steam, and they are also selling it at $5 off, making it $15.
After the free weekend though I think I'll just forget about this game, maybe play the old version if it still has any players (which is a free UT2K4 mod). -
Great game. xD I love it. Great price too - not to mention all the free DLC.
-
Its a really great game, bought it at $15 and I've played it more than I've played l4d. They don't lie about their constant updates and mods coming for it to increase the re playability of the game.
-
One of the best fps purchases I have made in a long time AND I love to support indie PC only developers as all our major developers are going to the consoles we need to support the little guys on PC so they can make us more great games in the future not bound to console limitations!
-
ok, is it worth buying it for $19 especially when I have pre-ordered l4d2 and just waiting for it to be released?
-
Dude this game is HELLA fun I would say its worth 20 bucks for sure. I bout this game and left 4 dead about the same time and I have played killing floor much more. I even bought the character packs because I want to support these guys and they release DLC for free.
