Anybody try The Last Remnant for PC yet? It's made by Square Enix and is an RPG game reminiscent of Final Fantasy. It's up for download at guru3d.com, and pretty recently too (4 days).

If you play it, be sure to let us know what you thought. I'm really hoping the game isn't a total letdown!

Well i played it and i enjoyed it. The fighting system is interesting to say the least alot of other people on this site DIDNT like this game so i dont know.

The battles dont involve too much strategy but you have a party of 8 so if you fight someone good the battles are very long.

I am looking forward to the game, although I'm not expecting Final Fantasy type quality from it. It is huge however (2 DVDs), so the actual game is probably very much more polished than the demo.

My friend is almost done it on the 360 and he said its a mediocre game; although if you take into account the number of games in this genre on the computer you have almost nothing else to choose from so it falls into the "best in its class" category for now ;) I did read on gamespot that the game feels very polished and has no technical flaws on the computer and since it runs on the Unreal 3 engine not only does it look great, but it actually plays well across many different PC configurations which is going to be a huge selling point as games thee days are not optimized well and many people have a hard time playing games their computers should b able to handle easily.

I hope it sells well so that SquareEnix will bring more of their games to the PC as they do make very good RPGs!

    1. I'd say having the menus ported pretty much part-and-parcel from the console counts as a major technical flaw. No, really, unless you have a 360 controller plugged in you may find yourself as confused as I was. It suffers from horribly consolitis.

    2. SquareEnix hasn't made a good RPG that wasn't just a rerelease of a classic for years. I remember when "Square Soft" meant something, but that was before tripe like "Final Fantasy IX" and "Chrono Cross."
