Does anyone here play this game?

I've played WoW since launch and I don't think I can take any more crap from Blizzard so I may be looking to move on.

The primary interest I have in this game is being able to play instruments. What instruments are available to play? Is it hard to compose your own tunes? I've seen lots of impressive videos on Youtube using it.

I also have a few questions:

    1. How is the questing in the game? In WoW is generally "kill 10 things and bring me proof" or "collector 10 things for me".

    2. How is the community?

    3. Is PvP in the game? If so, is it like WoW were that's all the game is about?

    4. If there is PvP is there any world PvP or is it instance based?

    5. Are there gold farmers/sellers/etc spamming throughout the game?

    Thanks!

    1. Its about the same as WoW but with better lore.

    2. Pretty good from what I've seen.

    3. When I played there was only dueling in world.

    4. I think pvp was instanced as monster play or something. You basically role a toon as a 'monster' and pvp instanced.

    5. Naw, not worse off then any other game.

I played for about a month but got sick of it. The world looks great and the storyline is of course awesome but it drags a bit. And most everything is repetitive. Basically just another WoW Clone.

And a whole lot prettier looking, there's a DX10 BETA now in game and it looks even better if you got the hardware to back it. I only bought this game for the pretty and just recently canceled my account because I'm more of a FPS person and I can't stand grinding!

    3. PVP isn't just dueling. There's what they call Monster Play. Basically in a special zone, players can take on the role of a monster and go against player characters. Only players who hit lvl 40 and up acan participate in Monster Play. There're quests too in that zone. Monsters start out at max level and come in several types and you can choose any type to play.

If pvp is your thing I wouldn't recommend Lotro. PVP in Lotro is more of a diversion. loved pvp in WoW but it became a grind. Not enough variety in BG maps was the main sore point for me.

I quit WoW soon after the exp pack and lvl 70. That game (WoW) is good but right now they're just milking the franchise for all its worth and I needed something new and something that I can play casually and Lotro fits the bill.
