Members of NBR like to compare their prized laptops with others.

Windows Vista has a "feature" called Windows Experience Index(WEI) that gathers information from your PC and rates your computer out of 5.9.

    WEI rates these components:

    Processor- Calculations per second
    Memory(RAM)-Memory operations per second
Graphics- Desktop performance for Windows Aero
Gaming Graphics- 3D Business and gaming graphics performance
Primary Hard Disk-Disk data transfer rate

If you don't know how to see your Experience Index, follow these steps:

Click on Vista Orb at bottom left- Click "Computer"-Go to System Properties-"Rating"

If you haven't rated your computer before, let WINSAT do some tests. It should only take 1-2 minutes.

Now, the point of this thread. To compare your notebook's performance with others!

    Please post like this:

Laptop Manufactuer and Model (eg. Dell XPS M1730)
    Windows Experience score:
    eg.
    Processor- 5.9
    Memory- 5.9
    Graphics- 5.9
    Gaming Graphics-5.9
    HDD- 5.9
    Overall- 5.9

    Specs: x7900, 4GB, SLI 8800M GTX, 128GB SSD

    I'll start things off:

    DELL XPS M1530:

    Processor- 5.3
    Memory- 5.2
    Graphics- 5.9
    Gaming Graphics- 5.6
    HDD- 5.4
    Overall- 5.2

    Specs: T7500, 3GB, 8600M GT, 250GB 5400rpm

Don't be afraid to share your score! At least you're able to run Vista ;)

You may NOT call yourself a computer nerd if you're comparing WEI scores for performance.

International Computer Association of Nerds (ICAN): Rule 17.

    What it really measures:

Processor - Phase of the moon
Memory(RAM) - Size of your shoe
Graphics - Number of crickets within 50 feet
Gaming Graphics - Conversion USD to CAD
Primary Hard Disk - Next grocery bill

    ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD2600 supporting HyperMemory™ technology
memory : 256 MB dedicated VRAM
