** The Official nVidia Quadro FX 570m Thread! **

Well, I think it is about time for a thread like this. Especially since there are many nice lightweight notebooks out there that contain this GPU. I just received my T61p notebook a few days ago (actually, I guess it was yesterday) and plan to try out lots of games, some CAD demo software, and do some benchmarking to see what this card can really do. I am a little busy now, but hopefully I will have a chance this weekend to test some software.

With that in mind, please post any software you would like me to try, especially if it isn't a game. If there is a demo of the software, send me a link and I'll run it and post the results.

I'd like to do a clean install in the very near future, and when I do, I won't be running any demos or benchmarking software anymore, so the sooner you let me know, the more likely I'll run it.

With that, I'll get back to reality and hopefully everyone will look forward to learning some more about the performance of this card.

Just playing around, the FX 570m is very powerful for a laptop card, even with Quadro drivers.

I think I am going to reboot tonight, but it is safe to say that the FX 570m works just fine for gaming!

 

Do you have the 14.1" version or the 15.4"?

 

Not bad! Especially for a "business" GPU. No pun intended. (Business as in AutoCAD MatLab, not business as it means business.)

I got a 3DMark06 of 3526 when I ran the benchmark today, which is pretty amazing.

This was with workstation drivers, not anything optimized for gaming. I had about 70 processes running at the time as well.

Pretty impressive card if you ask me.

 

Although I dont have any screenshots, the 570M plays Bioshock very well too.

Mark can you see if you can O/Ced the card using the new 16X.XX drivers. My card seems to be locked via these drivers on my HP 8510w.

I just reinstalled windows on the computer and don't have a lot of time to play around with drivers at the moment.

If I get a chance, I will, but I got to focus on some other things besides computers (school and work) for the time being.

 

Have you made sure your previous drivers were completely cleaned, and that you're using the newest version of rivatuner? Make sure any previous versions of rivatuner are completely uninstalled as well.

I think it's safe to say that for now the latest drivers (163.67) blocked overclocking.

Yeah, I couldn't overclock.

But Riva 2.04 is coming out, who knows what's in store haha.

EDIT: I'm thinking about whether or not I should roll back. I haven't really been playing any games lately though...

 

Correct, of the new drivers only 162.18, 162.22, 162.50, 163.16 and 163.44 are OC'able, I believe (as of now).

Is there anyone tried to install Mac OS X on T61(w/ FX570M)?
I think mac pro uses quadro 4500, so fx570m may be used for mac os x.
If possible, would you please let me know howto and/or tips?

Hi guys. Should I even bother purchasing the Quadro NVS 140M with 128MB. I don't really play that much games,. I just want my laptop TO BE ABLE TO play games if ever I want to (not necessarily the new ones)

The t61p 15.4 is really worth it, if you want the 14 inch model might as well get a dell for the lower price.

Or a gorgeous T61p. Check the lenovo outlet. It's packed with those (around the last pages).
I almost get a g1s too. Good that I learnt about this computer.

 

Yup, you should be in good shape. Some people have had issues with this card and gaming, but I can't say that I have. Just keep that in mind.

 

Can you guys run COD4 maxed out at 1680x1050 at a good framerate (25+)?

Not sure, I would guess you could max for sure at 1280 x 800. I'd imagine you'd get close to max at 1680 x 1050, but you may have to sacrifice a few settings.....

 

First, can the Quadro FX 570m be overclocked. Second, how does it compare to the 512MB 9500m GS ?
