If I reinstall my OS and install the Orange Box again (it is currently installed), there won't be any conflict correct?

Okay, just wanted to make sure, I think people said Spore or other games it would only let you install a certain amount of times or only to one pc (in that it would include a clean OS install as a new pc).

Thanks for the help, might upgrade to 64-bit vista (friend has the disc, pretty sure my 32-bit key will work), so we'll see

    yeah go for it.

I'd do the 64-bit. your friend's CD will work with your key as long as they're both the same type, or they both have to be vista ultimate, or both vista home.

yes, your 32 bit key will work with a 64 bit install (because the key isn't there to lock you out to a certain "bit" version of windows)

and yes, steam rocks. there is no "install limit" or any of the other nonsense drm limitations associated with steam's drm. steam drm does its job without you having to notice or suffer, and provides some positive things as well - autopatching games, steam community, steamwide friend list, high speed download install, etc.
