This is a new RPG from Obsidian, creators of many famous RPG games. Some people consider this a proper successor to Fallout New Vegas due to the style of the game and gameplay. Here are first 20 minutes of gameplay:
If you like what you see - you can preorder it now at Epic Games store:

And CP2077 isn't available on any platform so far. You can pre-order it for PC and current gen consoles (except, like you've mentioned, Switch, but CDPR may pull a Switcher 3 on it in the future, who knows), but it's not out yet on any platform.
In the end, we are all end users with different opinion, and my opinion on this game is that I don't want to use another launcher (already too many, and don't use Windows 10), so I will skip it until it comes to Steam or, preferably, GOG.
You may have another one, someone else might share same opinion as mine, and so forth. This is how you get conversation.
Also this thing can be a good feedback for devs/publishers. In this case by reading such discussions they can check what is better/more lucrative deal i.e. maybe lesser sales on EGS alone, but a bigger cut + cutback from EG or maybe bigger sales on Steam/EGS/all other platforms, but lesser cut. Metrics and stuff - it's important these days!
Anyway, remember watching older gameplay video, and IDK, but this gameplay video looks kinda smoother, though maybe it's just me.
I'm still not a big fan of TES/FO3 type of gameplay and this looks very similar to that... But hopefully Obsidian will deliver the story and lore, even if the gameplay won't be to my liking, and that's what matters the most to me. I completed their Alpha Protocol three times. It had such a crappy gameplay, but the story and characters were totally worth it.

Looks good. I love these types of games. I'd like to try it, but no, I'm not going to epic or microsoft for anything. I haven't caved for Metro and I've been drooling over that for a long time.
It's going to be wait or the other way... -
exchange rates are trash but i want to buy it to see how it is.

So I'm going to wait, for fully patched (is Obsidian game, ehem) version on Steam.cucubits likes this. -
Finally I got a chance to try this. It does look nice. First impression is good. The graphics are a bit cartoony but nowhere near borderlands for example. Can't speak about the gameplay yet, need to progress a bit. Gut feeling is that it'll be a very fun game.
Disclaimer: in no way I am saying this is worth throwing money at epic. Find another way to try it before buying next year on steam -

So far it seems like the game turned out pretty great, judging from overall feedback.
Again, it's a shame it's not available on GOG or Steam, otherwise I would be grabbing it instead of RDR2...
However I will be forced to "upgrade" to Windows 10 some time in the near future due to PC upgrade, so I might try it on Game Pass for Windows 10.
But luckily for the time being I have my hands full with Greedfall and then with RDR2.

Sorry for the cross-post from the `What are you playing now?` thread...
I have the game pass for PC so I have it from the MS Store. I haven't gotten very far yet, but I'm liking what I see to this point. Just as expected the mechanics are VERY Bethesda FP-RPG. The writing, chars, and voice acting are some of the high points. It also doesn't hurt that it's colorful and not all drab browns and greys. I will say without a doubt it's nice to play a Bethesda style RPG and NOT have those same people doing most of the voice acting. Everyone knows the voice actors I'm referencing.
You can see where its DNA is, but it definitely has a style all it's own. If a Bethesda style RPG sitting in a Firefly-ish wrapper sounds appealing to you it's worth picking it up.hmscott likes this. -

Just a friendly reminder: you can always watch the whole gameplay on Twitch.tv, it does not cost you anything and it is the best way to decide whether the gameplay is worth paying for if you will want to buy this later. Pick your favorite streamer and enjoy.

Well, if you can't control yourself, then yea, you should probably avoid this ;-) I only watch games I am not interested in buying or games which I have already finished playing, or multiplayer games (there is nothing to spoil).

Playing it now, seems pretty good to me. I think a lot of the negative reviews are people who expected it to be some mythical perfect fallout game(usually quoted as new vegas in the 3d era) and how bad FO4 was(what? it was and is awesome, better/deeper than this game to me). I can certainly see the fallout influences in so many ways and if the developers/pubs touted it as a "better fallout" then they deserve the ridicule but I don't follow the hype industry much so I wouldn't know. Bioshock, FO, No Mans Sky and it kinda feels like some Far Cry as well.
So far it's not a deep game, too much jumping around to new places for that, but it's fun and looks great to me. Monarch is amazingly great to look at as is much of the other planets, ships are ok if a bit generic. There's not much npc's going about doing things too much, like in fo4/tw3, but who cares. I'm not a big conversation fan/dialog choices nerd, more into exploring/combat so I'm into it. I can see there being a big single player dlc aspect to this game but that all depends on the developers. I don't do online gaming, this doesn't seem big enough to have meaningful online aspect to it. I'm enjoying it and get 45-60fps at 1080p with an overall medium graphics settings mix on a 980m. Wish they had more detailed settings though, AA usually is a no go for me just for more fps but no options for that specifically. It's not a mega game like GTAV/TW3/RER2 but that's not a bad thing and thankfully they respected our storage and dl bandwidth with only 37gb install size, RER2 will have to clear out a few things for lol -

--Sorry for the long post, hope it helps someone lol---
As a followup this is a good game, not great, it's about 30-40 hours if you do all the small quests and companion quests. I missed one of the companions so didn't get those missions so around 25-30 hrs. for me. It is a lot like fallout from some missions, characters, environment(esp indoors) and situations, and I noticed some borderlands. The character cosmetic customization is pointless since there is no 3rd person mode(wait for mods lol) and you only see your character in the armor menu, sex makes no difference in any upgrades etc. not sure about relationships seems to not have as much of that for the player like there was on the FO series, didn't encounter it. For most people just go with random or maybe one or two settings aside from sex, don't waste too much time on it. It's def more focused and streamlined than FO games are esp when it comes to the overwhelming amount of objects/loot in those games, harder to get lost here. The perk system in FO has always been too much for me. Less quests, you can be pretty sure you've got the vast majority of missions if you do exploring and talking to named characters. But the cost is standardization and sameyness more bland, like armor/weapons/upgrades. I don' think I would do a second playthrough, maybe months from now or years. There is no after major quest free roam, it's done and you either have to revert to a previous save or start over(FONV), but the game does have a prompt to save "no going back", doesn't mention no post campaign free roam though.
It has depth of the characters and a good sense of humor. Has social programming aspects to it for sure mostly gender/haircolor/etc presentation related. And it's either you're a corporate slave, anarchist or revolutionary, not much middle ground. Scientism/tech worship obv is a major theme. Grisly in many places to keep people interested/shocked. Can't believe there was not some mission presentation of witchcraft/freemasonry/mkultra in there aka no dunwich stuff, no explicit obelisks, no chessboards, mannequins etc etc etc but maybe that's just a Bethesda thing. There was a type of chessboard that was laying around a lot that had hexagram and checkerboard pattern though. And ofc corporate symbolism always has an occult base even in games. I think the companion I missed out on had an occult based missions/outlook, there is the obv grand architect religion aka masonry presented to us early on and one of the minor npcs has some religious stuff. Instead of Thank God it will be Thank THE LAW, or VOID HELP US, reflecting a replacement of God with scientism/legalism babble we hear so much today.
I used some of the mods to make the UI as clean as possible it's too cluttered by default, to turn off chromatic aberration, skip startup movies. Bizarre that some games go so detailed in settings and others go to not detailed at all. NOT worth 60 for sure, for the same money you will be able to get RDR2 in a few weeks. Too short for that amount too. I think a lot of games actually go to epic etc to avoid the steam feedback initially bc steam feedback is one of the best parts about steam and you can get a good idea about games from them. Games sell at full bird price initially so why go to a platform that costs you more AND has a huge gamer community that will be very vocal about the game right on the buy page lol That probably costs them a fair bit of full price buyers in the first month of release, we're not talking about the deals you get as time goes by. Damage control would be the legal corporate doublespeak here I think lol
Bug report: There is a section near the end where there is a immediate crash bug, but there is a yt video and etc that shows how to get around it, just use a hacked different route to marker. I had a few markers that were not showing correctly and sometimes the markers wouldn't update or were not there. Sometimes the pause to player menu button would not work after hitting it a few times, it always came back eventually though, using a 3rd party xbone controller here. Got a few crashes due to driver not working, 436.40 win7x64 so had to fire it back up it usually worked fine after that, I am using a gpu that did not originally ship with my pc though so modded inf. I use a trainer most of the time as I'm single player offline only so it saves me time and helps me in the exploration part I love so much, the borderlands series just gets way too much w guys constantly coming at you it's a chore, sometimes the extreme banging gives me anxiety/headache, here at least once you clear out a place it for the most part stays cleared out, nice. No problems bugs w trainer, worked fine. -
Playing this for free through Game Pass. Bit annoying cross save isn’t implemented, so can’t switch between PC and my X1X, just have to stick to one platform. My biggest wish for the future is universal cross save for all platforms. I even hacked my Switch JUST so I could move my Skyrim save onto it.
FNV is my favourite game of all time so am pretty excited about this game. So far it’s pretty good, but I need more time with it to see how deep it goes. -
I haven't played very far yet, but I basically came to the first major decision you have to make from a faction standpoint. SPOILER WARNING.
I had the engineering girl with me on the quest. I liked the different things she was saying along the way, though it was kind of like her script was set up to say things about both factions in order to just try to give you an even harder time making a moral decision about which faction to basically side with. I don't think I'm really spoiling anything but I obviously sided against the corporation. I think the most surprising part of it is after doing that and having to kill a couple folks to get the part for my ship. I ended up having to basically kill THE ENTIRE TOWN.
I decided to just live with the way it played out instead of reloading to see if I could use sneak or something to do it all without killing anyone, maybe the town would just not like me very much or something but not shoot me on sight. But I was kind of shocked how easy it was to basically get that entire town to attack me. I basically ended up killing every major character in there trying to get out. OH WELL lets keep going and see how this plays out. I'm imagining this might make my life hard now with Spacer's Choice potentially attacking me everywhere I go. Not sure if that's what will happen but I'll find out. I basically JUST left the town and am heading over to the exile camp to talk to those peeps again now that I gave them the power.
This is actually the part of RPG'ing that I like. Not save-scumming and just seeing how the consequences of the actions I took and choices I made play out for the rest of the game. Even if it was by mistake or causing me to miss out on things. Not sure if it will actually have some long-term affect on the rest of the game or if the Spacer's Choice crew will "calm down" once I see them again in a new location.hmscott likes this. -
I pieced together all of the log in the Geothermal Plant that showed that Spacer's Choice took out a huge insurance policy on the employees then rigged the Mechanicals to massacre the whole lot, so they could collect. At that point I was not doing ANYTHING that would benefit this ****ed up company, Pavarti's feelings and the residents be damned. Cut the power and let that place descend into madness. Spacer's Choice fanatics are shoot on sight if they have beef as far as I'm concerned. -

Finally finished it. Ending was satisfying enough, though I was so powerful by the end it wasn't terribly challenging. Worth playing.

...diverted power to the town, but then convinced the cannery boss to step down. All the 'deserters' went back to town and Adelaide (the opposition leader) became mayor.
Just for fun, I got the game working on a 2017 Macbook Air using Low Spec Gamer's iGPU configuration guide. It runs and is mostly playable, but it's a pixelated mess. -

Just beat it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it and overthrowing the Board. The last boss fight was unexpectedly challenging, given how easy everything else had become given the strength of my team. The ending was satisfying.
Definitely worth the $6 I spent on Xbox Game Pass for PC to play it. I had originally considered canceling my membership after beating this game, but I'm thinking I'll give Halo: Reach a spin first and maybe keep the subscription for a while.hfm likes this. -
I was just looking through the list of games included and there's quite a few in there I would like to play. I still have to finish D:OS2 though, I think I'm getting close to the endgame on that. (Except for the "side-quest" of trying to kill The Doctor... no spoiler but WOW that side-boss is HAAAAARD... I had to leave that for the time being..)
