I've been a fan of The Sims since the very beginning; Will Wright's idea of letting you control virtual people in their everyday lives taps that desire that we all have to be ruler of the world and tell everyone else where to stuff it. The Sims is the closest that many of us will ever get to Ed Harris' character in The Truman Show; that's the movie where he plays the director who gets to "cue the sun" and manipulate events around the unsuspecting Truman Burbank, played by Jim Carrey. The thing is, Truman doesn't realize that the quaint, coastal town that he lives in is in fact a carefully staged set and that his every move is caught on camera and beamed to the outside world. The Truman Show is an apt description for The Sims 3 , because it too takes place in a quaint, coastal town that your sims can go out and explore. Yet wherever they go, you'll be carefully watching.

How do you think about the sims 3 ?

I thought I was the only one who related The Truman Show to the Sims 3 in my mind! Unfortunately, that's as deep as my thoughts go.

The Sims 3? What is this - 2009?

I really really enjoyed The Sims 3. Just as I enjoyed The Sims 2, and The Sims. Also SimTower. Man, I loved the out of that game. And SimIsle. Also SimAnt. Of course, the heavy hitters SimCity 2000 and SimCity deserve mention. Plus SimFarm, and even SimTown. Oh, and SimCopter, too!

ARE YOU SEEING A TREND YET

lol simcopter was amazing. espeically when you could fly around the cities you built in sims 2000. that was an amazing concept for me, tho the graphics makes me cringe alot now..

ill go watch truman show now since im a big sims 3 player tho i feel like sims 3 is straying away from the subtle fun of sims 1 and 2. i just havent been that pleased with most of the exp packs and havent even bothered looking at the latest one -_-
