Hi, OK i admit i might not have the fastest laptop in the world but i think it should at least be able to play the sims 3.. Which it does but very very laggy and skips and such. I've put my computer into "best permformance" mode. Used Gaming booster. Shut down background programs. Its still very laggy and slow even on the lowest settings possible. I have the latest driver for my video card. Installed the patches. The sims 3 doesn't seem to like my laptop. Here are the specs:

    Intel core 2 duo T6600 2x 2.20ghz
    4gb Memory
    500gb Hard drive
    512MB Ati radeon 4570
    Defualt resolution is 1920x1080 60hz

I exceed the recommended specs but its still very slow.

    Thanks for the help :D

Have you tried other video card drivers? I find that just because it's the newest driver from the company, doesn't mean it works well with all games.

I would search for some other drivers and test them out to see if it works.

I would also try a re-install of the game too.

Is Sims 3 the only game that does this, or other games?

your specs looks good, only thing that might be a little bit problematic is your CPU, but it should still run the game at low settings. try turning down your resolutions and make sure things like AA are off.

Sims 3 is the only one that does it, i can play command and conquer 4 at medium without issue. I'll try to install a different driver and see if that works.

Thanks, yeah i turn the resolution down and get the same lag but my laptop only has 5 resolutions which are

    the recommended is: (1920x1080) then, 1280x1024, 1280x720, 1024x768, 800x600

But that's just my laptop screen and it is only aloud to go to 59hz, instead of 60hz, guess it doesn't like 60.

Thanks for the help I'll try those and see if the driver helps.

It was mentioned by ryo1000, but are you sure you truned AA off?

Having never played the Sims 3, I am only going by assumption.

I would assume it is under Options - Video Options or something similar from the main menu.
