Amazing CDProject rocks! i can't believe that some unknown polish programmers have made this masterpiece...
-
Does this game have nice graphics? Is it at par with Oblivion or maybe at least close to it? Judging from the screenshots I've been in IGN, it's not as good as Oblivion. But most of the time, screenshots don't look as good as they do in person.
Ugh... I can't believe I wasted my money on Hellgate London. It's a dissapointment really. And to think it was supposed to be the 'spiritual successor' to Diablo II.
P.S. The Witcher was my alternative when I was at the game store and I picked Hellgate London because of the hype. Poor me... -
On the plus side the Witcher is very scalable and doesn't look that terrible at lowest settings. -
-
I'm not purely about eye-candy. It's just that I don't want to play games with craptacular graphics (i.e. Soldier of Fortune Payback). Not all recent games have good graphics.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I'll probably pick one up when more of those Christmas gifts come.
@ metaldeath
How 'old' is old to you? I consider my Geforce Go 6600 old but it manages to play Hellgate London nicely 1280x800 mostly high, but only 2xQ AA, no AF, no soft shadows, low shadows. It does lag sometimes when the screen comes crawling with countless monsters and when fancy spells come to work, but it's still playable when these hiccups occur. I just need something to gauge it against. If it's anywhere near Oblivion requirements, I'll only end up playing it on my desktop. Blah. -
Here's the official requirements for the game: Click here
The 6600 coincidentally is the minimum required to run the game. The Witcher's requirements are actually higher than Oblivion's but the scalability helps. yougamers.com has comparison screenshots of the game at its worst and with maximum settings enabled. -
Hmmm...witcher it's well coded that oblivion but i guess that with a 6600 you can play with low/mid settings(your 2gb ram help very much in this game).Try Neverwinter nights 2 is very similar in performance or try the witcher demo
One think i can say is the game looks good even on low graphics and the best part of the game is the atmosphere so if you don't mind some lags you can really enjoy the witcher and set all details on medium and shadows/lighting effects off
Forget AA -
@ everyone
Thanks! I'm guessing I can play it at medium @ 1280x720. It's odd that Neverwinter Nights 2 has a system requirement like that. The graphics aren't that nice.
I'm desperate for RPGs on my PC...
EDIT:
Hmm... I checked the comparison screenshots in YouGamers. I hardly noticed a difference except for better draw distance, slightly better lighting and textures when they used their pumped up system.
The Witcher patch 1.2 is out!
