I purchased and downloaded Thief Deadly Shadows from Steam. I am having a mouse issue. When I stand still, the mouse does not move the view, only when I press a direction key. Is this normal?

I don't think so because when in training mode and have to shoot the arrow, I can't move the mouse to aim the arrow.

    Any comments/suggestions?

    Thanks!

Has this happened every time that you try to play the game? Does the mouse ever work in-game? Does it work at the main menu?

What kind of mouse do you use? Is it USB or PS2? I remember something about Thief having some trouble with USB mice and interference with other USB devices. I'd check for you but I don't have the game anymore. :(

Mouse works in all other instances. It works in the menus, and the view moves with the mouse when I am using directional keys to move. But as soon as I stop moving, my mouse won't use the view any more.

It's a USB mouse, but that shouldn't matter... This actually was on my desktop, will try on my laptop and see if I get the same result.

Check you mouse settings one by one. If this doesn't solve it, try another mouse. I am almost certain that the problem is in the settings.

Weird. It works fine on my laptop. But on my desktop it doesn't. With both I didn't touch the control options, they were both fresh installs. Not sure....
