How is the game right now?

It says that the 30 free daysare for new station accounts only. I've already played the free trial, does that mean I'm excluded? That would be stupid. Do I absolutely need a CC or I can use a game time card like any other game?

    Thanks

there are many good MMO's about to come out.

I would not jump into an old game like EQ2.

OP: Out of curiosity is EQ2 the only mmo you have tried/played?

There are better ones currently available and as the other two have mentioned, more *good* ones to come out soon.

Nah. I've played wow on private servers, 3 months of Tabula Rasa, 3 months of Age of Conan and some time on lotro, I didn't like lotro very much. And there also are all the free MMOs I played.

If you already played the free trial, and did not register a credit card prior to playing, then I am pretty sure you are eligible for 30 free days of gameplay. However, if you created an account in order to play the trial and/or "verified" the account with a credit card (and you plan to use the same character/account you've been playing with in the trial), then you might be out of luck.

    Agreed!

haven't played in awhile, but its a fun game... not sure if its something to get into right now unless you plan on never going past the 30 days. The only one out I still enjoy playing from time to time is City of Heroes...

Mainly waiting on Star Wars: The Old Republic, and for Star Trek Online... haven't found a medieval type one lately that is any fun anymore...

For free MMOs, I really recommend to check out:
    - Perfect World International
    - Jade Dynasty

I checked them out at E3 (with interviews).... very good games for free. :)

    Are they based on grinding?

I may just get back on Guild Wars for the time being.

    funny you asked that question.

Jade Dynasty has a few cool features that makes grinding and grind quests a breeze and automated.

I need to upload my footage and interview, since they go over it very well.

I think Chaz's site is distributing beta keys for that game. ;)

EQ2 is WoW with 100 times the grind. If you're new to MMOs you'll find it daunting, if you're a veteran you've probably tried so many already that EQ will offer nothing new.

Exactly right. In fact, the grind is so bad, that SOE regularly gives its players pots that increase experience gained by 30-40% for 60 minutes.

I'm looking forward to this one too. With school and work I don't have much time during the school year.

I dunno.. i find EQ2 more complicated, which I like.. makes it more fun.. WoW... its an ok game but I find myself dozing off while playing from boredom.

I prefer Vanguard SoH over EQ2, Vanguard has some really nice graphics, great game play and a very good community(friendly). The classes have some really cool stuff.

Maybe. But it's still under the watchful eye of evil SOE, which will no doubt ruin the game with their "improvements" soon enough.
