ok the laptop i have right now(before i get the new 1) is getting on my nerves. I bought unreal tournament 3 thinking i was gona have an ok time with it till i get my new laptop(which will play at the high settings that usually do). but it appears that it cant handle it for some reason. I launch the game and it shuts the pc down after logs in. Sometimes(on rare occasions) before a match was magically possible able to be created or after i either win or loose a match. Sometimes Complete shut down or the game would freeze and id have to force shut the game. the minimum specs for the game are; XP sp2, 2.0 Solo core, 512 Mb, Nvidia 6200+, and 8 gbs hd... I thot my stuff was ok for the time being till I(inevitably) upgrade... but I just dont understand why this is happening. can any1 give me reason? is the the game more CPU driven(a SHOOTER)?

No way. The machine in my sig can play it at 1024x768 at mid-high settings. Looks to me like a driver problem.

Maybe your CPU or GPU is overheating?

log the error (make sure you did not disable error porting) and post it.

I had an issue with mine like that.... it turned out to be drivers and directX updates mainly.

if it shuts down your computer, it's overheating. Try blowing some compressed air into the vent of your laptop to clear it out.

Also shooters are usually more GPU dependent, not as much CPU.
