Those arent grenades.... those are potatoes...

I tried carrying my 40" Bravia and PS2 and controllers to the airport last summer so i could game while i wait for my flight but the airport limo-taxi couldnt fit it all with my luggage.
He then told me theres a better way to make gaming portable and that was a laptop computer. Who knew?? Who would have thunk it?

The moderator sent me a private message and told me it was inappropriate.

I don't see how it could be any worse than Homer sitting on the pot taking a dump?

Oh well, I thought it was funny!

Call of Duty 4 is coming to the PC, why should you get an Xbox?

P.S. Use descent sites if you want to find out on what plattform a game is being released.

Well I play on PC because, FPS sucks on 360, Strategygames sucks on 360, hell I want high resolution games, not low resolution games. Yes I do own a Xbox360 too, but not many games on it appeal to me. I prefer better graphics and higher framerates compared to low resolution textures and 30FPS :) This is why!!!!!!

Yeah, native 720p and 1080p at 60fps is terrible to look at!

I think you need to upgrade your TV and cable it sounds like to me!

Good luck finding many games on the 360 that runs at 60fps at 1080p, get real!

I bought a gaming laptop, not a laptop for just websurfing, but I also built myself a kick ass gaming rig with a Core2Duo E6600 overclocked and a 8800GTX. So I have both a kick ass gaming laptop and a kick ass desktop gaming rig :) Couldn't be happier.

Oh and try and run Oblivion at 1080p on a 360, have you done so? No don't think so, you can't the 360 can't handle it and besides there isn't a patch for it either.

Oh also noticed that Gears of War is limited to 30fps, still you can see that the game doesn't run at 30fps all the time, no it dips :)

Excuse me for the whole 1080p @ 60fps. But there are numerous games that run exceptionally well at 720p @ 60fps! Like i said, go by a better TV and a VGA cable! Native 720p output is crystal clear!

Go ahead build away, you will never build a stronger gaming computer than when the 360 delivers, period.

Edit: Yeah, and I really want a super gaming computer melting my legs away~!

    Get real yourself.

? computers have always peformed better for games than consoles, back in the PS2 days I played NFSU and NFSU2 on PC and then i tried them out on PS2, they were considerably less pleasing to look at.

gaming consoles are good cuz they usually remove the complications of PC games, such as bugs, compatibility and the long installs. just insert the disc and play (after loading) but while graphics in consoles improve, they will always be impressive at first but lose that when faster graphics and better games come out.

game variety on consoles is good too, but still i prefer a PC for most of my gaming

Yeah and it doesn't matter if you have a high def TV, the textures are still low resolution, the trained eye sees this. I had my 360 hooked up to my widescreen monitor so it's easily noticable.

Besides yes they can look great at first, but a console is never never faster than a fast PC, never.

Melting my legs, I don't think anyone play hardcore 3D games with their laptop on their laps. Got damn, have you tried to put your super hot, then I mean super warm gets really warm 360 on your lap while you play? that would melt your legs away definitely.

I would call this thread a flame war, this is a guy that obviously don't own a high end gaming rig that haven't played games on a high end gaming rig.

If you want the ultimate gaming experience then you build yourself an expensive gaming rig, that's how it is at least for me. I don't think the graphics in the 360 is jaw dropping at all. I can imagine kids who has never seen "next gen" graphics as they so nicely call it thinks it's jaw dropping but not me who is used to these kind of graphics but better on the PC.

Not going to argue with you.

Belive all you want, your computer is not a better gaming system then the 360 by any means!

I understand you spent alot of money, but that's your fault dude!

In regards to Oblivion? You've just been owned! From the designers mouth!

Quote: "Hmmm, I guess it's more about the fact that we can do it all and not really have to cut corners. So for instance, in the PC version, depending on your PC, there's a part of it you won't be seeing in all its glory, but on the Xbox 360, you get it all. Please, everyone, buy an HD set ... just please.

Xbox.com: ...just how much more glorious an adventure can owners expect from the title than their PC-loving counterparts?

Howard: Again, it depends on their setup. If they have the absolute latest PC with a video card that is fully shader model 3.0 compatible and a giant HD monitor, they're about the same. The question is, can they get all of that for $399?"

    Answer is no!

    Sorry to burst your bubble!

Of course you can't get it for $399, but computers do more than game. You can't just take into account the gaming power of a PC. In terms of productivity, the 360 has none. On a PC you can run a lot more software than games, ie productivity software and web related software.

Isn't this an eye of the beholder type thing anyway? Apples and oranges, I say..

Oh don't worry, we'll all be laughing in a short time as 360 owners realise that with a good machine that us lucky ones possess, COD4 will look better on the PC. :)

Oh and it's silly to say that no gaming PC can touch the 360. I'm not a PC fanboy, I used to have an Xbox360 and a HD TV and yes it was lovely and all, and certainly better then the average computer right about now - but the window in which a new console is superior to a high end computer is a very small one indeed. It is to be honest just plain dumb to say that no gaming PC can touch the 360 - a top end machine will easily beat a 360.

Actually I think magnus covered it pretty well here that's all I'm saying as it has been true for many, many years.

I used to have friends that thought the PS2 was absolutely jaw dropping, but these were people who were used to only playing games on crap computers and/or older consoles. Didn't mean it wasn't a good machine, but it certainly didn't make the PS2 better then a good computer, even though they definitely thought so.

look there is no mouse control on an xbox 360, i loved gears of war, the graphics were great, but the gameplay is so much more limited, i have not experienced the depth of gameplay on a console that the PC provides. The wii interests me though, this has an innovative control style and is good clean fun, sadly they couldnt couple it with the latest HD graphics and most of the games also lack depth.

I feel that there is room for both PC and console games as they provide different experiences. I like to play console games with my friends when they come over and i play PC games online. mariokart cannot be matched on PC for massive 4 player fun in the same room but also you will never get CS:Source/BF2 quality first person gaming on a console in my opinion.

finally the most popular genre, MMORPG, seems to be almost exclusive to the PC, i dont play this myself as it seems like the crack of the gaming world but if you dig this you will need a PC (i think).

In summary i think some of the best PC games can not be replicated on console but also do not necessarily require the latest greatest technologies you guys are arguing over. The games i play most are CS:source and Warcraft III which both run fine on my laptop, i dont need mega frame rates or super high res they are just excellent games. I can also play them while watching the Football on my HD television in the sitting room, while my console waits for friends to come over.

Excuse me, do you say that Oblivion on the 360 looks much better than it's PC counterpart, kiss my ass. Can you put 16xAA on the Xbox on Oblivion? I think you have never seen Oblivion all maxed out on a computer have you?

Oblivion on the 360 and I do own Oblivon on my 360 looks like medium settings compared to my Oblivion on my PC. Get a life dude.

I think this argument is rather stupid... It comes down to what you want to do with your spare time, that's about it. Some people like to play board games... others drive sports cars...

The obvious part is FPS/MMO/RTS games are much better on the PC while sports/racing/action/puzzle/party games are better on the console.

A console might be cheaper, but what's stopping you from buying 3 consoles, 2 handhelds and a super PC. Your big house? Your luxury car? It's your entertainment preference, to each their own.

First of all, do you own a 360 that is hooked up to a lcd flat panel display through VGA connection at native 720p? I highly doubt it if you are trying to argue this stupid point! I have the setup and I looked into what made the games look and play the best. Have you?

This comes straight from the DEVELOPERS mouth!

"Quote: "Hmmm, I guess it's more about the fact that we can do it all and not really have to cut corners. Should I continue? Do you really want to go there? Want to do the Far Cry comparison?

I mean we can go there if you want, but honestly I don't want to crush you and your "high end" gaming pc since you spent all that money on it!

I'm running Oblivion at 1680x1050 with 2xAA, all settings maxed, 8xAF, Super-Sampled Transparency AA, AND Qarl's high-resolution texture pack. Fluid.

I seriously doubt the 360 can do better.

And as for the expense? Well, the 360's certainly a lot less expensive. But I can't surf the internet with my 360, nor can I capture and edit video, nor can I play shooters with a keyboard and mouse, nor can I get homework done, nor can I hook up two monitors, nor can I...

As for burning my legs off? Not really, and the hilarious thing is that my tower runs quieter than the Xbox360 does.

More than that, PC hardware has already eclipsed the 360's hardware, and it does it a heck of a lot cooler and more quietly.

But this is really apples to oranges, and I'd encourage a mod to close this thread just so we won't have to see you triple-post the same frigging quotes. Of course the developer's going to talk up the game for the console junkies. And on XBOX.COM of all places! No, an interview on that site couldn't possibly be biased, it's not like it's owned by the manufacturer of the frigging system. Would it be too much to ask for you to think critically about your source before you shout it like it's gospel?

Be gone 360 fanboy, you are so totally wrong. Yeah I had my 360 hooked up to my TFT widscreen that has better picture than the most LCD TV's out there with HD.

I can still play my games in far higher resolution than you ever will with a 360. Get real, the 360 is a nice console, but to think it beats a PC in graphics is just ridicilous.

I agree with former poster, that Racing and Sports games is what I play most on my 360, but FPS, Strategy, Wargames, MMO, Role Play a la Oblivion is far far more superior on the PC.

Have you even looked at how many mods there is for Oblivon already? How many mods is it for the 360? :)

Hey are you pissed just because your laptop can't play games in all their full glory? I didn't know Xbox fanboys owned a PC, thought they hated PC's, apparently not :)

    Hmm...

"The elephant in the room is the gaming PC. We've chosen the Dell XPS 710 H2C -- the most powerful PC we've seen. In terms of gaming power, it's unsurpassed -- the sheer scale and graphical realism of PC games outdoes any of the consoles, and will continue to improve as designers get to grips with the power of multi-core processors. Online play is far more developed as well -- nothing on the scale of Battlefield 2142 or World of Warcraft is available for a console."

    Oh, and maybe this.

"Oblivion looks better on a high-end PC than on the Xbox 360. Note the additional foliage visible in the background. We matched up resolutions for screenshot comparison purposes here, but a high-end PC with an AMD Athlon FX-60 CPU and GeForce 7900 GTX graphics card can enable all the settings and take resolutions up to 1600x1200 or more and still maintain smooth frame rates. We noticed that the Xbox 360 version had better antialiasing since our PC version couldn't enable HDR and antialiasing at the same time. Of course on the PC version, you can get rid of jaggies the old-fashioned way by jacking up the resolution."

As a rebuttal to your CoD4 trailer here's a little PC only title. Although the CryEngine2 itself can run on all consoles, the Crysis game is only coming to a PC near you. If they do decide to port Crysis to consoles, "We would just have to see how much of a sacrifice to the game we'd have to make." quoted from Michael Khaimzon ( Lead Art Director ) working on Crysis.

In PC version, if you have ATI card, you can anable HDR and antialiasing at the same time. Other things that vastly improve the visuals compared to Xbox 360 are the high resolution texture mods available for PC: http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/obliviontextureoverhaul

And still the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion struggles to run at 30fps. I know some heavy areas that puts down the game to at least 25 fps if not lower :)

Even ronkotus gaming laptop which is really good runs Oblivion better than your 360.

So you see you don't have to buy a very expensive PC to run the games better and better looking that it's 360 counter part :)
