    Hi guys:hi2:
Im considering on getting a sale laptop that has this graphics card and im really not sure how good/bad it will is performance wise.

    Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Processor (1.7 GHz, 2.7 GHz with TurboBoost, 3 MB cache)
RAM 8 GB DRR3 (16 GB maximum installable RAM)
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M (2 GB GDDR3)
    Storage 1 TB HDD

It's on sale right now on a low price (£500) and with the research I did I found that the 740M is a better option however I have not yet seen it installed on a laptop as cheap, So I would appreciate your opinion on whether this will be a good buy or not. Will it be a decent rig for gaming?

    Thanks guys
    :)

850m has GDDR5. 840m has DDR3. I'd opt for the 850m any day of the week.

GTX 850M 128bit bus vs 64, GDDR5 vs GDDR3, more cuda cores... choice is easy !
