    I'm buying a XPS M170.

    1. Can i put a Dual Core CPU in if it has the same socket ?
    2. I am looking at a 2.00Ghz PM, 1gb RAM and 60gb HDD so what's the chance of it having a Geforce Go 7800 GTX ?
    3. Will it run Crysis decent ?

    Please someone answer me !!!!

    Thanks...

No, to your first question, you're stuck with the Pentium M, as the chipset doesn't support the Core (2) Duo. Great processors in their day, but now single-core's heyday has come and passed.

Whether or not it has the Go7800GTX doesn't really relate to any of the other stats, as the M170 was exclusively a CTO notebook. Ask the seller.

As for it playing Crysis - yes, it will play it. You're going to want more RAM either way, but if you have the 7800GTX there is a good chance of being able to manage a respectable 1280x800 at low. Past that, you're most likely SOL. Depending on the price and other components, you may be better off looking into a newer notebook, even if it is "lower-end" in today's lineup.

Don´t worry about Crysis, I can play Crysis at 1920x1200 and all low smoothly, some medium. At 1280x800 I can play medium settings, all medium settings. Overclock the 7800GTX and get a 1.8GHz PentiumM with a 400MHz bus and pinmod it. You´ll end up with a 2,4GHz.

I will give my 2.13 GHz a try to pimod, though it is bound to failure but reaching a speed of 2,73 GHz would crush most laptops out there :)

Actually the XPS M170 with a Go 7800GTX is still faster than many notebooks out there. You have a higher chance to play games at high resolutions than a 8600m for instance. Currently I play just for fun Gears of War on mine at 1920x1200.

A tip for you is not to go with newer drivers, for me every newer driver since the one I use now is slower. Currently I use XtremeG 91.47 2.50e. If you get the computer, go get this driver, I highly recommend it. Also you want 2GB ram for sure.

    Thanks...
But what i meant was if he bought the cheapest CPU RAM AND HDD would'nt he get the cheapest VC.
My old desktop could'nt play Halo PC on 1024x768 on medium settings.
Also could it run Age Of Empires 3 on high...
    Thanks again...

Halo, this laptop rips Halo through. Now maybe overclocking was a little overkill to speak of if you are unsure. Though my 7800GTX is overclocked and I´m using AS5 on both the GPU and CPU for better cooling.

Now if I only can do a pinmod on my current CPU I would be very happy. But Halo you can play at 1920x1200 without any problems.
