Basically, just got a new dell xps m1530.

    Its specs are ,

    4gb ram
    geforce 8600m gt 256mb
    250gb sata hard drive 5400rpm
    2.4ghz core 2 duo processor

it handles all my games pretty well, I play crysis on medium and high, and other games like stalker clear sky and mercenaries 2 on high settings very well

what I was wondering are tips for improving my fps in games, anything I can download or do on my computer to get more fps out of a game,

    * I havent overclcoked my graphics card either as I am scared of messing it up and ruining my laptop,

Any suggestions, tips or advice would be great !

    many kind regards, Jack :)

Turn down all effects/details/AA etc. May make it look way worse, but you'll get more FPS :D

go to your nvidia control panel, and change the visual settings to "High Performance" and then edit everything from there.

Maybe try downloading nhancer, it has a lot of things you can tweak also great for sli support. Also experimenting with different video card drivers will help.
