I rated Titanfall as a 6/10 and wasn't too nice to it due to the price after trying it for two days.
It is fun even with the downsides... and my gf's kids absolutely adore it and I didn't hate it which is more than I can say for most arcade shooters. (BF4/CoD/etc)
it just wasn't worth $60 to me... which Origin still wants.
However, for $29.99, (+tax and free shipping) it may be worth the price of admission.
Microsoft Store - Xbox, Surface 3 Tablet, PC, Office, Windows Phone and search for Titanfall PC.
Better yet, you are getting it straight from Microsoft, so no worries about pirated keys or keys from other regions.
This is the boxed version, so you will need to wait for shipping, but I don't mind waiting a few days.
Oddly enough the download version (origin key) is always more expensive.

Just noticed it's $29.99 today on Origin as well for the digital download. Tempted but still not sure.
EDIT: Oddly, it's still listed as $59.99 in the Origin Store, but if you click the Featured Today link it's $29.99. -
Origin won't give me the lower price no matter where I click.
Must be because I participated in the 2-day trial.
Tricksy Hobbitses (Origin)
Anyone else get Origin to give up the lower price?
be77solo, did you try it? -
Ah.. promo code... where did you get the code from?
(and did you play the 2-day trial?)
I have to say, I think I will make Origin pay for their poor handling of this and let Microsoft get the sale this time. -
I participated in the BETA before release but not in any trials since then. -
Alrighty... well it doesn't work for me on three different computers. I click on the popup or even the "special offer" and its still $60.
Perhaps it is the trial, or perhaps I just am not lucky enough.
/shrug
I guess I will just wait for my physical copy.
Either way, for $29.99 I think I'll get my money's worth out of it. -

Titanfall isn't worth $30... $20 max IMHO. It gets boring quickly. Has issues almost as bad as BF4. It's just a mess.
-
6/26 patch changed a bunch of things... not sure if its the same game you left.
I agree some things are still cheese, but there is significantly less than BF4.
Really wish the titans were better than they are (durability-wise), but the pilot combat is fun and frantic. (and a lot better balanced than BF4 or any CoD game in existence)
Between the kids and I we played pretty much for 2 days straight... annoying my gf up the wazoo. I'm not bored yet, and that means it is already 4x better than BF4.
I'll get $30 out of it. Even if I decide to put it down, I'll still jump into a few attrition matches to let out some stress every once in a while. -
Yeah, I mean it kept me interested to put in 20-30 hours, but for an online shooter, it feels like a one-trick pony. In any case, at least you're having fun with the kids. That's most important.
And I think the Titans are a bit weak too. I want them to feel more like a semi-indestructible force to contend with. Not just a bigger enemy with a little more firepower and a little harder to kill.
-
Arguably they aren't harder to kill. Rodeo is all too easy and while they don't die quite as quick as a pilot in hits, they are a LOT easier to hit. (broad side of barn easier)
Pilots move so quickly that even up close with a auto-aim gun there is no guarantee you will hit them. Frankly I am safer using my titan as a distraction than I am inside. (lol)
Still its fun to make that sniper change guns and run up behind him stealthed with an SMG while my Titan plays "bait".
The eldest daughter loves the sniper guns... she is kind of scary lucky with them. I hesitate to call it skill as people just seem to dive into her sights. It may be skill and I am not good enough to get it.
The middle boy uses a combo of auto-aim gun and spray pistol. I think he has proven to me just how broken the auto-aim gun is. There is little doubt that he knows exactly what he is doing.
The youngest daughter is the scariest I think... she randomly picks weapons and fires seemingly randomly, but has this unusual talent to hit things with them. Somehow people appear where she shoots and die. Furthurmore, she has this tendency to not get hit. (I have no explanation for it.)
I think she had the best kill/death ratio of all of us. If I did what she does I'd be dying constantly, but for her somehow it works.
Don't get me started with her in a titan.... the titan is going to die quickly, but so is everyone else.
Heaven help humanity if she ever becomes a soldier... (both sides are so dead it just isn't funny)HTWingNut likes this. -
LOL. That's great. Sometimes people are just lucky or their play style just works for the game. I think I'm too geared towards technical shooters and simulators that I'm handicapped. I have similar issues in BF4 where if I shoot someone in the face with a grenade launcher 3-4 times and they don't die I still can't put it past me to stop using the grenade launcher, because, dammit, it should kill them. I agree that to rodeo a titan is pretty easy, but it seems all of them use the electric smoke now so it makes it more difficult.
Titanfall for PC half price. ($29.99+tax with free shipping)
