...just don't do it. The camera control sucks and is downright buggy, combat is either annoyingly simple or too difficult to do without trying 15 times, and you cannot even get the main story and the good stuff until about 1/2-way through the game. Frequently freezes as well, and every review I've found online says this happens REGARDLESS of what type of PC it is running on.
Seriously, I have to play at 1024x768 with most details on low to just get decent frame rates...and even then it slows down when there is any hard drive activity (like saving a game or loading parts of the city). Oblivion looks better than this, and all my other games look decent too...this is just a horrible port and horrible graphics engine that is extremely inefficient.
Crawling on walls? Fun, but not when the camera goes into "I'm now going to make you puke from vertigo and buggy movement mode." Swinging...easily the best thing in the game, but again the camera and physics engines really screw this up. Oh, and the lovely physics engine...who said someone could throw a bomb at you and it travel down and then back up to hit you?
This game is really poorly made, and I just wanted to say that while the story and the swinging is kind of fun...the rest of the game just ruins the experience.
Tomorrow, this waste of money is going back to the store...

Have you seen the graphics on the Wii version? Horrible is too kind a word.
-
A crappy movie tie-in game? Well, colour me shocked...
-
It *could* have been great, even while following the movie...it just needed:
A better combat system
A better camera
Better graphics
Didn't have this staggering issue that a lot of people complain about
In other words, someone else needed to make the game... -
Spider-Man 3 has the highest requirements in a PC game I've ever seen, how could they not get good graphics
?
-
I can write you an OpenGL program that draws a green static line on your screen and eats up 100% of your dual 8800Ultra in SLi and 3.3 Ghz 4x2-core Xeon, and gives you an out of memory error with your 16GB of RAM within a second. It's called **** programming and resource management.
-
A rushed video-game based on a movie? You fell into the many millions they put into marketing for spiderman 3 in general.
The 6.5s from gamespot and ign also confirm this ;-0 -
people who have desktops are currently struggling with it...if you check out play.com you see the reviews that people are stuggling to run it...and they written what kinda of rigs they have got..
my cousin has it on an am2 x4000+, 2gb ram, 160gb 7200rpm, and 256 x1950xt,
you can tell it lags...he had to scracifice soft shadows, AAx2 and a few other things...but it ran ok...i think that sometimes that some games are dedicated for gaming consoles like some are for pcs...i think that they should have stuck with this for jus the ps3,ps2,xbox 360 etc... -
Well I wasn't planning to but I like a good rant
Is Kirsten Dunst in the game? -
Yeah, but just like everything else the graphics suck...
Don't think you can hang upside down and actually get smacked for it
-
Also, I can't get my mouse middle button to work
-
It sounds like that might be a mouse driver issue. The middle button has to have a specific function enabled...I just cannot remember which one right now.
To anyone thinking of purchasing the Spider-Man 3 Game...
