How is Skyrim compare to those games?

    1. Is Skyrim world bigger or smaller?
    2. Are there any missing feature from Skyrim that was in past installments?
    3. Are there more to do in Skyrim or less?
    4. What mod do you think is needed to make Skyrim feel less off a console port and more like a game made for the PC?
    5. Do you guys feel like Skyrim is a dumbed down version of Morrowind?

I never played the past installments so I wanted to know what people think of Skyrim in relation to the past games.

Is it better, worst, or different?

It lives up to the rest of the series' reputation. More beautiful then past games, just as large, and the combat is hundreds of times better.

If you never played the past installments, then what's the point of comparing them?

The combat is much better than in Morrowind and Oblivion. There's no mod needed to make it feel less like a console port, whatever that means.

I only played Morrowind (Xbox1) and Oblivion (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC) maybe three or four hours, the PC version longer with mods and i can say that Skyrim is much better "out of the box" compared to the last two games.
Better combat, item crafting and fast travel only to places you have discovered first are but some of the features in this game.

Skyrim smells of GOTY, nuff said.
No wheres that expensive and useless Horse armor, Bethesda?

In the relatively short time I've had it so far it seems like it's a step forward from Oblivion, but still not as good as the magnificence that was Morrowind. Morrowind had way more skills, factions, and hand-placed loot (I.E. you could get the best loot in the game at any level if you knew where to go and could get past the enemies that were way past your level). I seriously doubt Bethesda will ever make another game that is as good as Morrowind. That said, Skyrim is still fantastic so far.
I would disagree. I think the PC version could really use some mods to make the UI (menus and stuff) more PC-friendly. It works fine with a controller, but they could definitely do better for keyboard/mouse.

Morrowind and Oblivion I had on both Xbox and PC. Both in my opinion were far better on the PC version due to the mods. Just a couple days after release and Skyrim already has over 80 mods available. If you are looking for mods that make it feel les like a console port you will want to look for the graphic mods. They will improve it far beyond what it currently is.

The only thing I'm sad about is the loss of athletics, acrobatics and attributes. I played a speed based flash-like character in Oblivion. Now that isn't an option, because you can't change speed.

I got a "2 steps forward, 1 step back" feeling in the time I spent with Skyrim - the pros have been mentioned above, the big con is that the PC version is obviously a second class citizen, unlike Morrowind and Oblivion where the PC version was at least equal to, if not better than, the console version(s).

Oblivion's UI was HORRIBLE for PC. Atrocious.

    I'll agree on Morrowind.

    1) Bigger than Oblivion...it feels much, much bigger.
    2) Being able to adjust your speed and strength (D&D like adjustments to the character) are missing. It's annoying I can only carry 300 "lbs" of stuff (but at least now it's a little more realistic) but you'd think I could work in the gym a bit to improve my swinging arm or something :D.
    3) It seems like there's more but it's hard to say right now.
    4) More information in the menus and whatnot. When you're buying an item it would be nice if you could see your current stock so that you don't have to keep switching between the two menus. Same with spells...if I'm shopping for books I'd like to see in the same menu which spells are already known to the character. Map icons could have additional pull-down information cross-listing quest information in there (similar to the quest menu's setup).
    5) I didn't play that game so no comment.

Overall I'd say different with the potential to be much better with the right mods.

Oblivion was a sleeper surprise for me. Never played many games like it before, nor did I care for the type of game, but it grabbed me. I got sucked into the world and quests. I did get bored eventually, but not until after over 70 or 80 hours. I'd say that's more than your money's worth.

Skyrim seems of similar caliber. Time will tell as I haven't gotten too far into it.
