    Tomb Raider: Underworld System Requirements

    Tomb Raider will be back soon - November 18th (US) / 21st (EU) - and the we got the system requirements. You can easily compare your system to these requirements using the Game-o-Meter. Oh, and don't forget to check out the demo, available now.
    Tomb Raider: Underworld Minimum System Requirements

    * OPERATING SYSTEM: Microsoft Windows XP / Microsoft Windows Vista
    * CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz+ or AMD Athlon 2.5 GHz+
    * RAM: 1GB (Windows XP) / 2GB (Windows Vista) system memory
    * GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce 6 series 6800GT (or better) / ATI 1800XT (or better)
    * HARD DRIVE: 8 GB Free Space
    * INPUT DEVICES: Keyboard and mouse

    Tomb Raider Underworld Recommended System Requirements

    * OPERATING SYSTEM: Microsoft Windows XP / Microsoft Windows Vista
    * CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or Athlon 64 X2 4400+
    * RAM: 2 GB system memory
    * GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX or ATI HD 4800 series
    * HARD DRIVE: 8 GB Free Space
    * INPUT DEVICES: Microsoft Xbox360 Controller

    I'll fancy a guess that mouse + keyboard will once again be a better way to steer Lara around, just like it was with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, so take that pad recommendation as related to the "Games for Windows" badge that requires any GFW-labeled game to support the pad.

    you've got to be sh!tting me. they are Forcing the requirements for Nvidia with a 9800GTX while for ati its any card that is from 4800 series? omg.

    That's freakin' insane! That's has higher recommendations than Crysis. I doubt this game is worth a 4800 or 9800GTX anyway.

    The recommended system is MUCH higher than it needs to be. My 4870 tears up the demo, completely maxed out AA, AF, Vsync, everything, at 1920x1200.

    I loved Legends, it was great fun. Anniversary I have on PS2 and have not really touched it in many, many months. But Underworld I will gladly pick up for PC. I think the TR series is great. Combat is always kinda so-so but that is not the focus of the gameplay so it doesn't bug me too much. Go Lara!

    I might be imagining things but requirements for games lately have been bordering on the absurd for mainstream gamers.

    I wouldn't read too much into it. I can run the demo perfectly smoothly at 1900 x 1200 with everything except AA maxed. It takes a bit too much of a hit with any AA though.

    I'm not actually convinced by the graphics. They look great but too many short cuts like bitmaps for distant lands that look pixelated when you zoom with the camera, sun rays through roofs that don't actually light anything, flickery shadows on Lara, flat vegetation textures, and a very dodgy gameplay camera. Not to mention Lara looks weird and has a sickly yellowish complexion; I think TRL and TRA Laras looked way better. The water looks and sounds amazing though.

    Tomb Raider Underworld runs fine on my notebook. Here's what Windows thinks of it. So I don't know how anyone could say that it needs either a 9800 or a 4800 GPU to run it.
