What do you except from this patch.
We will post our here our benchmarks with patch 1 vs patch 2. and give small reviews about patch 2.
-
Is there a built-in benchmarking tool?
I'll gladly post up some 'shots between the 2 patches. -
I wish there is a benchmark toll but there is no till now. still no download link hopefully tonight there will be one.
-
handling feels completely different. jumping car is gone except for mclaren F1 that is reduced somehow. it fells better and smother with patch 2.
-
Good to hear Lum-X, I did find some cars were a bit uncontrollable
I'll grab this, and try it out soon. -
Yes lots of cars ware uncontrollable and there are still some. I love mclaren F1 and every time i'm driving fast and i touch a bump the car jumps like crazy now its the same just a bit less also CCX has the same problems. as for other cars there is more grip and i can notice i can corner faster, more stability, overall bug fixes that i have to try some of them to see if there are gone ,less freezes and frame drops.
Overall i would say its a excellent patch with DLC but I'm waiting more polishing from developers to have a perfect NFS and better drivers can do the job.
What i would like to see is some spoilers for cars that don't have one to have better grip and FERRARI cars. lol -
I've just tried out the new patch, and I have to say, it's given SHIFT a new life.
The cars feel heavier, and more 'stuck to the road'. The problems I had cornering at very high speed are now much less painful, for example, the first corner at Spa GP was almost impossible to do flat-out in my Caymen S.
Performance wise, it does feel a little smoother, and I was averaging about 50FPS at 1280x800 and 2xAA (everything else maxed). Before, it was about 45FPS average. It might be just a placebo effect, but the anti-aliasing looks far, far better now. Before it looked like it wasn't even active, and now the edges look far smoother, and giving the whole appearance a better look overall.
I think EA had the same problem as Polyphony Digital had when creating the Gran Turismo series; Some manufacturers demand too high royalties for appearing in the games, others just out-right refuse. I honestly don't feel like I need Ferrari to make an appearance in the next SHIFT, as I believe EA have chosen a fairly decent range of cars, with very different performance (handling, speed, etc). -
got the patch and its gooood. new cars are awesome, and there are some physics changes added. The cars understeer muuuuch more now, which for most people will be fine but the old Shift physics was a little more fun but more chaotic. Now, it doesn't matter what you drive RWD, AWD, FWD - it will all understeer the same. Kinna lame for those who know cars and racing fairly well.
All in All, its a good patch but the physics change was a bit drastic and harsh. Original physics could have used some improvements but those are wayyy too drastic for serious racing fans.
EDIT:
Now its gonna be impossible to beat my time on Laguna Seca. lol. try it!! 1:19:01 with Zonda F. -
I just bought the Zonda F tonight. Holy God, that thing can shift (excuse the pun
).
I'm still getting used to the new understeer that the patch brought along with it, but I don't find it to be irritating.
Speaking of physics, has anybody noticed that the opponent's cars are far easier to lift off the ground from say, a bump or two
-
Ok, side question, maybe I just suck, but I have never won a single car battle race. I can never lead ahead of the AI for more than 5 seconds, at most probably 2 or 3 seconds, then the AI just passes me.
-
Nope havnt notice anything with opponents cars maybe i should take a look.
as for zonda f its a crazy car, its pretty hard to handle sometimes. i'm getting to like more shift now with this new patch but there are still lots of tweaks to be done in the game next patches hopefully will fix them,
Tomorrow NFS Shift patch 2 will come out.
