I want to know exactly which game has the BEST graphics ever right now.

I recently received a laptop which for the first time can play games at highest settings and I wanted to know which game out there (doesn't matter what type of game) but what software out there has the BEST GRAPHICS EVER!

Also, then which are the top 3 games ever in graphics. I'd really like to try some of them which that realistic 3d graphics which I've never seen before, and I'm hoping someone could help in picking the game with the ultimate graphics and detail. Thx

Current games I have ... Battlefield 2 BF 2142, Call of Duty 2, Half Life 2, Counter strike source. Those are probably most of the games I have with very good graphics.

You can try to play Medieval 2, suppose to be graphically demanding.

Definitely would agree with Oblivion and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter as well.

I determine the GPU load from my temps that i monitor during gameplay.

I'd say Oblivion, Gothic 3 (at highest settings), Medieval 2.

Fear, Oblivion, Ubersoldier, Call of Duty 2, and even though its not on PC its worth mentioning Call of Duty 3, looks unbelievable.

Call of Duty 3 isn’t going to be a pc game? I heard it was coming out for Ps3, but why would they not make it for PC as well.

And it seems like a lot of people mentioned Oblivion. Is that an online game? Or is that a single player type of game? Also, how is the gameplay in it?

Oblivion is a singleplayer RolePlaying game that will suck away your time pretty quickly :p
There are a few threads here in the gaming forum with screenshots and stuff. Check them out. Gothic 3 is also another graphically demanding game you could try :)

I gotta add World of Warcraft because the actual art has an amazing and unique style. All the games everyone else listed just looks like a new and improved engine from bryce 3D and poser. Though I can't deny how good the backgrounds are in Oblivion (too bad their character models leave much to be desired).

Yea, I want to try out one of the need for speed games online. That would be fun to play.

keane, I must say, those grahics look incredibly. Is it out already or what becaues it looks like those pictures say from like May 6 2006. Well, hopefully it's a game I could play online because single player games aren't as fun really :p

the thread is on the best looking, not most graphics intensive, i would have to agree, half life 2 often looks better then oblivion and fear in terms of realism, color variety, and vatiety of environments.

The best (and most demanding) games out now are in my opinion, GRAW, CoH or even M2:TW, though after just a little while Unreal 3 Engine games will be out, such as Gears of War, UT2007 and Rainbow Six: Vegas, don't forget Crysis or CellFActor Revolution though, they rely on beautiful visuals AND awesome physics.

Top 3 eh? Lemme see... from my 3 odd weeks of having in my possession one of the (formerly) fastest lappie GPUs on the planet, and gamin on it...

1.Oblivion - Puts anything i've seen before this to shame... so much for HD gaming, PC gamers have been XHD gamin for years!!! Who needs an XBOX 360 for gamin, i run this at native res with all settings maxed (Bloom + 2 AA) except for self shadows and grass (gives my character a manly mustache and shes a hawtie! and who needs grass?) = 20-30 FPS

    2. FEAR - Redefines FPSes... now.... if they made a futuristic PC RPG based off it...Max settings with 1680x1050 res on my rig.. (modded the ini file for this)

    3. Company of Heroes - ****... Units that look kewl on the whole and even when zoomed in for ingame cutscenes?

At the moment I have to say Oblivion is the most beautiful. At least when you add all the best texture replacement mods out there. Of course this requires you have the top hardware to support it. I don't. :(

That is sooo true... i spent more time at the TES dload site getting mods than i did playin it, just to get the best skins etc etc! and btw, if your sig is right, what with the X1800 card, what you said about not handlin the game well is a bit..... bullish.....

I didn't say my rig can't handle the game. I just can't run the game with these kind of candies with everything set to highest. Load Qarl's parallaxed high-res textures, 4096*4096 lod textures and " Almost Everything Visible When Distant"-mod from that site and tell me your game runs everything at max smoothly. :)

CoH looks good and it is a pretty efficient engine because I am running it at native 1280x800 at pretty much highest settings. On a 6600...

I have a 7950GT in my desktop. I have played HL2, CoD2, and Quake 4 with no problems at all at the absolute highest settings. I tried the Medival II: Total War demo maxed out and it ran at 15-30FPS, by far the most demanding game I have tried on my GPU.
