Can you guys post some of the best Graphics Card benchmarks out there? I know 3dMark06 and Half Life: Lost Coast.

Would you consider the Crysis Benchmark Tool 1.05 to be another good one to add? Quake4 also? Just looking for a roundup of what people here on NBR consider to be the best to use to test just the GFX cards.

Many, many thanks in advance guys.

umm considering every single review consists of 3dmark05/06.. i'd say that's what 'people on NBR' considers to be most accurate.

The review of the 7150m on the front page of this website gives some examples of benchmarking software for graphics cards. I don't think a "best" benchmark exists since all cards work better for specific games in relative terms. 3dmark is popular because it's free allowing people to find at least one common area for comparison. masterchef (user on NBR) hates 3dmark and I think others share his opinion as well.

What I'm looking for is a 'spread' say using different engines. That way you can compare and get an idea of what is best.......ah nevermind. I'll probably just use some current games for my review. Since that is what people will be playing with anyhow. :p

I agree with you Wu Jen.

3DMark06 is only ONE benchmark and doesn't tell the whole story. Popular games with licensed graphics engines should be used as a benchmark since those results will appeal to most people, and give a better rounded result.

I'll like to use UT3 (Unreal Tournament 3) or Bioshock (another Unreal Engine 3 game) as new [and standard] gaming benchmarks since they're the most optimized for a huge range of videocards and are fully optimized for multi-threading (unlike some there new games ... Crysis).

I always use Company of Heroes test to test my cards out, the CSS one is also pretty decent.

3dMark is great for testing out overclocks and for testing out modifed systems but for testing a simple card it's rubbish, and not indicative of actual performance in-game.
