I really recommend Oblivion + new expansion. That is equal to 200 hours of gaming fun. But I wonder if your notebook will play it at nice looking settings.

Also try STALKER. I heard that it is a great game.

    Good luck.

Please support the game developers by actually BUYING their software; flat out stating that you're planning on torrenting the games people recommend to you here doesn't really do anyone any favors.

We've already seen a few companies say they are getting out of making PC games because of software piracy.

Gothic 3 is Oblivion like RPG and most addictive game that I have ever played but very powerhog although playable with my CD 2x1.66GHz X1600 2048MB. Gothic series is like Elder Scroll series but IMO much better and addictive. So If you like bit older than G3 and Oblivion I would recommend Gothic I or Gothic II + Night Of The Raven expansion. And kiss goodbye to sleep time. =)

I recommend to enjoy your vacations and forget about virtual life for at least a couple of days of it.

I second conejeitor's recommendation. Why not just try to have fun without a computer?

My dad might be getting a new job, so he wants me to go with him to atlanta, but he wants me to stay in the hotel. THAT is why i need a good single player game.

Also about the piracy thing, i personally do not do it, my friend does it for me. But i see your point, and you have really made an impact on the way i think now.

If you haven't tried Far Cry yet, try it now. It's one of the best first-person shooters ever made, and it's really cheap now - you can get it for just $10 at direct2drive.com, and probably even cheaper at a local store.

There is an expansion to FEAR out also. It is called FEAR: Extraction Point. It adds 6 more parts to the FEAR game and is quite fun. I just finished it.

Do they really? I always have a hard time believing it's that bad. (For instance, I pirate lots of games, just on a whim, but I always buy games that I spend any significant time on, and I buy them new when I can.) It's a sad thought.
