Hey all, just bought myself a Toshiba A100 at Futureshop specs are

    Intel Core duo 2.0ghz
    1024mb DDR2 (667mhz)
    120gb 5400rpm HDD
    256MB Geforce go7600 (PCI-E)

The forceware drivers on the laptop are 84.68 (cannot update off of the nVidia site, it doesn't recognize the video card)

I ran a benchmark test on 3DMark05 (version 1.20) and i'm getting scores around 1500-1700 (can't remember, don't feel like waiting another 30 mins for the test -_-)

My 3.4ghz P4 with a GeForce6800nu gets 4400 while overclocked, it seems to me this laptop should be scoring at least in the mid 3000s.

Also, i checked my clockspeeds with riva tuner, they're at 200/200 !!!! (with DDR2) That seems far, far, far too low for a geforce 7600. Has Toshiba put in a 6200 and called this a 7600, i dont know......

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Maybe you're doing this tests on battery...if so, 200/200 would be normal.

yes that was indeed my problem -_-

im scorin 3365 now which seems alot more respectable, not better than my home computer but not bad for 400/350 clock speeds i guess

wait you're getin 4700 with your x1600...it doesn't seem to me that the x1600 is a whole 45% faster than the 7600, still think something might be off? or is yours just oc'ed to the max
