I've read some articles about the new Toshiba Satellite A200 models coming out this summer saying that the better versions will have a GeForce Go 7300 graphics card. In the mean time, I could go out and buy a Toshiba Satellite A100 model right now that has a GeForce Go 7600 card. Isn't the 7600 supposed to be a lot better than the 7300? Why would they do this, shouldn't they upgrade for newer models instead of downgrade?

Maybe they are thinking about low and middle level of selling.
Keep going with 7600,it is much better card then 7300.

What's your source? It's quite possible they're wrong.

Do you think it's a good deal?

Plus I don't think it's a mistake, because they say the new P200 models will sport the 7600 card.

Sure they look good. The only problem is any new games you try to play on them WON'T look good, because they decided to use GeForce 7300 as dedicated graphics cards.

Toshiba have plenty of variation in this area with multiple notebooks available in the same sector. Right now in the UK the A100 has the gamers sorted with X1400/X1600 and the A120 is more classed for non gamers with just integrated graphics.

I wouldn't worry, there will be models with good graphics available also.

I'm pretty sure from what I can see in the specs the highest A205 model will come with a GeForce 7300 maximum. If you want a 7600 you'll have to get a P205 which has a 17" screen and is more expensive. I could get the A100 model here now with a 7600, but the new ones look so much better and have all these extras.
