I went to best buy today and found a Toshiba x205 sitting there...

It was around $1500... that sounded horrible with the following:

The proc was a 1.66 c2d... What in the world?

Its WEI scored lower than the gpu 8700gt ddr2 256mb and advertised this deal with bioshock...

Could this lappie play bioshock on everything high...?

And WOW it was a beast of thickness... looked like 1.5 inches... I fear the worst... Is that normal?

Will m15x or m17x be that thick?

that can't be right an x205 with less than a 7300 core 2 duo?
maybe they got their write up wrong, did you manage to run anything on it, or wasnt it plugged in?

Chaz's right as always - it was going for 1350 at bb just last weekend. It'll probably hit similar if not lower levels as xmas draws near

Well... anyone tell me the exact thickness of this notebook? It looks like a beast but sounds hollow... which makes me wonder why they dont make it thinner... ITS THICKER THAN ME!

1.66 c2d wont help me out at all... I will want to do some photo editing and video editing... and I am sure you need at least 2.0 or 2.2 for HD clips and movies... Can the proc be replaced?

I will check up on the price.... if it goes in the $12xx range im buying it... And if the m15x has specs out and isnt as thick as this x205 beast ill wait...

That is a good deal - for $100 more than the X205 on sale at BB, it has HD DVD-ROM and a faster CPU.
Correct; the 8700M-GT does not come with DDR2 memory. Period.
It's very thick, I'm typing on it now. However, it hides it somewhat because it is not a uniform thickness all around. It is 2" thick, I measured it.

1.66GHz C2D is plenty fast for HD DVD. I have the T7500 and about ~30% of the CPU is taken while playing an HD DVD. I think with a different software program, the GPU can do all of the decoding so there is no CPU usage.

    Gulp... 2 entire inches...

Yes I noticed that it wasnt uniform... but once you grab it... yeah its basically hollow to the knock I noticed...

How thick is it compared to other 8700gt lappies? How well does it play Crysis?

How thick is the M9750 ? And the XPS1730?
