i was wondering what is the best total war game for gameplay as i heard that they all have annoying with some more annoying than others i have supreme commander and i love and have seen some sceens of them that got me interested
also what kind of graphics and fps can i expect with np9262, 2.33 dual core, 2GB ram and a single 8800m GTX.
what other options are there i like the idea of building an empire and having the massive battles i know about Total War Empires but im not sure when its out

The game design of the Total War series (shogun, medieval, rome, medieval 2) hasn't changed much, only the scenario and of course the graphics. Rome is probably my favorite out of all those, but Medieval 2 is pretty good too. You can pretty much max Rome and Medieval out with your system. I don't know when Empires will come out, but it might be a while.

okay thanx. what would get out of total war eras or rome anthology i can only get one as im meant to be saving up for im going to uni in under a month

I don't know how much they cost right now, but Eras has a lot more content, so if money is an issue, go with Anthology. Or, get Anthology+Medieval 2 if you want even more entertainment.

Medieval 2 Total War has the best graphics. But almost all factions have the same units with 1 or 2 special units, so there isn't much unit variation. Rome Total War has decent graphics, but the unit variation in the game alone makes the game no less than M2TW. But then again, M2TW has more stuff to do in it. So 2 vs. 1. I'd go with M2TW, and DEFINITELY get the Stainless Steel mod.

stainless steel mod? whats that. i think i will go with medieval 2 and i hope to get it with the expansions are they worth it?

The Total War series is one of my favorites. What I really like about it is its one of those games where you can load up, play 30-60 minutes, and then exit. But you'll still be playing the game in your head, thinking about strategy and where to allocated troop strength/resources.
The campaign AI is usually much better in M2TW then in its predecessors--less nonsensical, random actions by AI factions (like a long time ally or protectorate attacking your faction for no reason). -
Another vote for Medieval 2 with the stainless steel mod.
