    Just wondering has anyone been able to successful run the game with an
    9800m gts card (laptop)?

    it will run... just make sure u run it in compatibility mode of xp or windows 2000.

    Can you verify this because when I try to run with xp service pack 2 mode I get a black screen only. I'm using Vista

    check the totalwar.com forums for a possible vista patch. the modding community for that game is amazing.

    You'll need to jump through a few hoops to get the game going in Vista, specifically there's a few files you must replace otherwise the campaign will flat out refuse to run.

    You also have to deal with the 3d battlefields and their strange difficulty in issuing proper move orders.
