Anyone looking forward to this one? I have mixed feelings personally. I pre-purchased Rome II and it did not live up to expectations with all of its launch issues. Having said that, that game is now in a much better state after many patches, though it took a long while to get there. Hopefully, The Creative Assembly have learnt from their mistakes. I am not risking it again though; waiting for community feedback before I dare take the plunge and buy for myself. Hoping for the best though! I really like the Total War franchise.
Happy to see the return of a family tree system. Really liked that part of Shogun 2. I hope they also reimplement the general speeches that occurred before battles, the agent movies, faction cinematics, each faction having its own avatar faction leader etc. from Shogun 2 - they really helped to give that game personality, emotional investment and an epic feel to that game that was somewhat lacking from Rome II due to their exclusion.
Hoping that performance is a little better this time around too - Rome II suffers from being too CPU heavy, which can really hurt the framerate at times.

Some more performance info I found. Not sure how it compares to Rome II though. -
Yep, read the same, and was disappointed. guess some things never change.

@Cakefish I have the exact same feelings about this game due to the exact same situation I was with Rome 2. I think just like Napoleon was a polished version of Empire, Atilla will be a polished version of Rome 2. I've actually enjoyed Napoleon more than Empire, even though it did feel more like an expansion pack rather than a standalone game, but I feel Atilla will be the same.
Cakefish likes this. -
im a fan of the total war series but attila, just like napoleon and fall of the samurai, just seems like a dlc more than a stand alone. imho, there just arent enough changes to warrant this being a new game, and this kind of practice is what is turning of a lot total war veterans.

They won't get another cent from me. Shogun was their last good game.

I still got Shogun to play and now will not consider any Creative Assembly game or read any hype for their games until solid extensive reviews.are out about them because.of Rome 2.
But do think the Total War series concept is among the best out there and implemented well in past games. -
I think it will be a good game. Still waiting for Empire II but as a Turk, I approve Atilla

I bought Attila a few minutes ago. RU key activated with VPN. I installed it and now playing without VPN, normally. $15. Still haven't played Shogun but island of Japan so small. And Rome 2 was a clusterf***, so will avoid that.

I did use allkeyshop promo code to get a 3% discount from Kinguin though.
This is a tough game, not sure I'm up to snuff to deal with the tediousness of combat in this game. Really do need to micro manage every aspect of this game. Good thing was only $15. I got Dragon Age: Inquisition to play so will put this game on the back burner until I have time to watch and read tutorials on how to manage troops in TW.TomJGX likes this. -
Yeah allekyshop has been a godsend.. I've finally been able to afford games which I would have pirated instead.. Don't mind putting down £2 for Max Payne 3 although I will avoid the Russian VPN keys!
