I want the best touch screen laptop for online gaming ...![]()
can you help me ?
-
Curious, are you wanting to actually use the touchscreen for gaming? Or are you just looking for a touchscreen tablet or laptop that will play online games?
I've had great success with the HP TX2500 series of tablets, it has both a passive and active digitizer, so works well with both your finger or the included pen. And, the ATI HD3200 that it uses has pleasantly surprised me with it's performance.
For a better source of tablet info, check out the sister site over at www.tabletpcreview.com
For a great list of games supported and how they run, hit up the HP forum over there and there's a sticky at the top with about 20 pages of info and screenshots.
Good luck! -

and what about this :

Yeah, for puzzle games and stuff like that you should be fine... pretty much any of them will work. The one you linked is a great one, very similar to mine, but there is a newer version out:

It's essentially the same machine, just with a "touch" enabled screen, meaning it recognizes multiple touch inputs and gestures, where as the TX2500 will only recognize one input at a time... not a huge deal, and for puzzle games and input it won't make a difference, but both are great machines.
It is nice as you can simply drag your finger and poke stuff or use the pen for more exact input or writing, but works great for just browsing around or in your case, playing puzzle games.
Touch does not however work with first person shooter type games, but puzzle games that you point and click with a mouse should work great. -
i would have thought touch screens and gaming would not go well together at all apart from puzzle games as someone said.

touch screen is easier ... isn't it ? -

Hey, just saw your last couple posts...
Both of the HP's come with Vista, and can be configured with different size drives, ram, cpu speeds, network adapters, etc.
Either one will be a great tablet for the money, I've been very happy with my TX2500.
But, check out www.tabletpcreview.com for even better info on tablets and touch screens -
is this tx2500 ? :

or another one ? -
ever used a wacom tablet in FPS. it is hard very hard
-
i'm not designer ...
so for my gaming i need at last a wacom ? (ii think that its for designers ...)
i want buy a HP touchsmart tx2 ...
Huh ? -
Yep, your link is to a TX2500 series, the TX2510 is one of their preconfigured models. The TX2Z is the newer in the series, same basic machine, with just an updated screen. The TX2500 series uses the Wacom Digitizer screen, and the TX2z series uses a new "touch" enabled screen that recognizes multiple inputs at once. That's the only difference between them (other than color, TX2500 is silver inside, TX2Z is black).
For basic use, either will be fine. The touch feature isn't overly useful right now, but with Windows 7 and more supporting programs, it may work better in the future. But, for puzzle games like you are wanting to play, they should both work essentially identical, so get the one you can find a better deal on or like the color of better. Or, just get the TX2Z as it's the newer release.
And, yes, as mentioned above, First Person Shooter (FPS) games are completely unplayable using the touchscreen for control, so don't buy it for that purpose. Either machine will still play them, just use the mouse or touchpad. -

wow! ppl wanting touch screen for gaming..never thought i'd hear this.
-
Ive considered this, and wondered if it was considered cheating? Is it as simple as taping someones head for a headshot, so to speak?
-
I'd imagine it's incredibly inefficient. What's faster... flicking your wrist, or moving your entire arm? Cheating, no way.
-
Apparently you can use tablets in FPS games, according to my buddy. He said his brother got kicked and banned from CS1.6 because they thought he had an aimbot. Not sure how true this story is.....
-
Touch screen and gaming don't belong in the same sentence...
-
-
I'll ask him again when I see him at work later today... It sounds wrong to me though.

tablets: the new aimbot! -
nah, it's not as simple as tapping a head and shooting them in FPSers... you have to move and pan around as it's setup to use the mouse for the looking motion, so touch is terrible for this...
BUT!
The original poster is wanting it for puzzle/flash type games, and sent me a sample in a private message to test... it was a carnival type shooting game where you click on a target as it scrolls past (think old school duck hunt-ish here), and for that application, touch worked great. All I had to do was tap the target with either my fingertip or the pen, and it registered the shot perfectly. So, for what he is wanting, it actually works great.
But for normal TF2 type shooters, it doesn't work because you have to scroll around with the pen, and as mentioned, that's MUCH easier with a mouse. -

you should really! check this out http://www.crayonphysics.com/

POKE headshot!
That's how I imagine future games. -

lol...
anyways, im interested in knowing how multitouch will affect
games in future.. -
The only problem with using a tablet in games is that if you have it in the mode where it is like a mouse, then it works but if it is using the tablet as the whole screen then it just spins erraticly

Touchscreen, the perfect tool for RTS games.
