Im thinking of getting this game as its only $40 for a game thats just been released and I heard that the multiplayer was pretty good. It also got a 9.0 IGN rating which is really good. So did anyone try this yet???
-
Someone made a thread talking about the game and performance...
http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...4-transformers-war-cybertron-performance.html -
Frankly its okay. Nothing special. Controls are a bit funky and its clearly a port of a console game. I played thru it a bit and uninstalled quick. The gameplay is very boring and repetitive after a quick bit. Really this game brings nothing new to the table in innovations.
-
It's a nice polished shooter with a good difficult campaign and an in depth multiplayer mode. I bought it for 40 bucks and I don't regret it.
-
Im probably gonna pick it up tomorrow and how long do you guys think the multiplayer will last?? Including all the Unlockables, Customizations and etc. Also what level does it go up to??
-
If your a TF fan, this is a pick up def, and im talking fan of the old school cartoon.
-
Just wondering around how many people play the multiplayer does it have a number i want to get it but am wondering if it is going to be a popular game or fade in a month or 2
-
Well currently it has around 500, but I mean, I don't plan to stop playing this game in a month or two, It's a nice fresh break from mw2 and cs:s
By the way anybody know how to get the 30fps cap off? I don't know why they did that, I would love to run this game at 60fps. -
I'm sold! Kinda like this old school cartoon:
YouTube - Transformers Go Hollywood -
is this game available on steam?
cant seem to find it there -
Transformers: War for Cybertron on Steam Here you go
-
By the sounds of it, people who are really into the 1984 Transformers might find this one more interesting than the average consumer. I am a big fan of the old Transformers but I haven't played this game yet although I have purchased it.
-
Well then wat are you waiting for?? Play the game and let me know how it is!!
-
"He's like Bumblebee, if he was retarded!" Classic!
-
Its not available to EU or Aussies yet.
Also, I got in trouble today for purchasing/sending gifts to EUs/Aussies if they sent me payment via Paypal.
Excellent game (long campaign, optimized, etc). But very VERY lazy port. No custom controls, FPS capped at 30, no dedicated servers, no player communication (chat/VOIP), etc)
There is a workaround to the controls, but everything else seems looked up in an encrypted coalesced.ini file.
-
darn not available in my region! -
You can get a copy from Amazon.co.uk with immediate dispatch or next day delivery in the UK. It is not the same as a convenient digital download but it is better than nothing and this is where I got mine from.
Edit: I notice they are out of stock of the ones that cost £25, the others in stock cost from £37 - £53
-
thanks i checked and they are available on retail just not in steam yet
-
Still not a port, do you know what a port is?
-
Port is becoming a term that mostly means "built for a console and half assed for the pc release" Little things like no mouse in menu's, no config menus or files to edit, locking to 30 FPS in DX9... Things that hinder optimal playing on the pc really.
Honestly the first level alone bored me to death. All it was was "run for a short bit, stop shoot some Autobots, look for a button press it continue and repeat 20 times" Got old fast. Solid shooter, great lore/story i presume but nothing exciting or new to the genre. Reminded me of just about every 3rd person shooter just with giant robots instead. -
Ahhh, I usually just say hobbled for FAILBox 360 to keep up. XD -
Yeah lol. This is what I meant by port. I know its not really a port, but still...
-
Just noticed this useful post on how to remove the annoying intro movies.
-
Just saying, I don't think they were autobots, they were starscream's soldiers so.....yeaaaaa....
Also any luck on boosting the 30 fps cap to 60 fps? Also any way to see how much fps you are getting in game? -
Actually multiple times thru the fight they call out kill the autobots or something like that.
-
Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
Just to let you know, the PC version will have no DLC.
link
though I find it odd they would say that when there's not even DLC yet. -
Why the hell not?
Makes me sad.....oh well, we have diablo 3, that means we are forever better than consoles. -
DLC is console exclusive. This doesn't surprise me and it I am sure it will not do any good for the current situation.
-
whats this current situation you speak of?
-
The current situation of what appears to be very high torrent numbers of this title. Some of the excuses I have heard around forums have centered on how the game was not released in certain regions. I just get the feeling that some will use the lack of dlc on the PC as another reason.
-
yea but the thing is, half the fun of the game is in the multiplayer and if you torrent it, I am pretty sure you can't play online
-
I really like this game but seeing as how there is no communication I'm having a hard time making friends and trying to get a set group or party together. Which seems to be necessary given the high amount of myself running into set parties. In a normal situation I'd just play on and not worry about it but 6 on 6, set parties are such huge disadvantages for me. So if anyone is decent or better and wants to play with me, let me know. I play Scientist and Sniper, level 19 Scientist and 11 Sniper. But it's nearly impossible to play Scientist against set parties who Leader .
-
I_Aphex_I
Thats my name on the game, add me if you want to play, I play battle scientist rather than medic. -
Well just purchased it on steam
i hope the multiplayers fun.
-
I finally got around to playing this one and I love it! If you are a fan of the oldskool 1984 Transformers series you will absolutely love this game. The voices and chatter amongst the robots are very similar as well as some of the wisecracks from Megatron and the others. You can tell they spent time on creating the world and the robots when you see how they move, transform, talk, fight etc. This is no quick and shoddy port that's for sure.
To those who aren't fans of the series, they will still enjoy it (maybe not as much) but all they might see are big robots shooting each other.
Regarding performance, I get a steady 30 fps with everything on the highest settings and native resolution. As others have mentioned, it is hard locked to 30 fps but I haven't tried to get past this yet. There has really been no reason to since it runs as smooth as anything. -
I'm going to try to get pass the 30 fps lock, btw what does vsync do for this game? I always thought it capped the fps at 60, but since this game is already automatically capped what does it do?
EDIT: so apparently vsync prevents tearing......I really am set onto getting this file decrypted so we can change the fps to 60.....I want to run this game at 60fps soooo badddd -
i know nothing of this game, but i said i would post in this thread to you and so i have
have fun with ur new purchase ! -

Hey guys, I got this for PS3, and have some major multiplayer problems with is:
- often get disconnected after a game is over
- sometimes disconnects me at the beginning of a game when choosing a class
- major lag within some of the games
was just wondering if you guys got any sort of disconnecting issues with the PC version? -
i'm not a fan of the fact that fine-focus aiming in this game requires manual deactivation as opposed to the Gear of Wars-esque method of only having to hold down the right mouse button as long as you need to (for fine-focus aiming; releasing it puts you back in normal view mode).
gets me killed 90% in frentic firefights. -
Since their are no dedicated multiplayer servers if the host leaves the game exits, pretty crap really should migrate to a new host automatically. As for lag again its dependent on the hosts connection and location, crap host crap game lol.
-
manwithmustache Notebook Evangelist
MW2 was so much better with the connection for me imo, when a host leaves it finds a new host and continues the game, it doesn't seem to do it here -
This.
Shame that there doesn't seem to be hardly anyone online at the moment. Competitive team deathmatch is the only populated game type and I haven't been able to try out escalation once, despite the fact that I find that mode to possibly be the most interesting.
Still, someone just released a FPS unlocker, looking forward to seeing if that works now.
EDIT: Just tried out the FPS unlocker and it works great! At least for singleplayer - if I try to get to the multiplayer menus with it activated, the game crashes to desktop. Might be able to activate it once you're in game though, not sure.
