Citizens of Cybertron,
Behold - FPS unlocker thanks to Psyche.
TWFC_FPS_Unlocker.zip
How does it work?
- Open the program and leave it open. Then load T:WFC. Make sure NUMLOCK IS ON. Then, press 0 on the numpad to toggle between capped and uncapped FPS
Please rep and sticky this thread, while I was NOT IN ANY WAY responsible for writing this patch, I took a great deal of time and some cost in having to find, convince and contact in order to help the T:WFC community purely out of their own free will.
* I take no responsiblity if this file destroys your computer in some intergalatic time warp of colliding universes*
Quick Q & A
Q: Have you used the patch?
A: Yes, it works both single player and multiplayer
Q: Is it truly uncapped?
A: Yes - I reached 120fps throughout on my acer true 120hz screen.
Q: Is it stable?
A: I played online for 3 hours without a hitch on a Win 7, i7 gtx 470 machine
Q: Can I trust this file?
A: Any diligent user should have anti-virus software/spyware programs to check. The author of the code is Psych;
CheatScapes - Same Game, New Possibilities
His contact e-mail details are also in the patch and further, he has been quick and responsive in contact and quite respected.
Q: How do I praise Psych for his great work?
A: Bow down as you would to Lord Megatron. That means don't spam. Be respectful and he may help us some more
Guys, I've had a blast with it. It's a totally different game, so smooth and nice.
Let me know your feedback.

That's great news - great find!
-
Thats great news, news of the day infact
.
-
Great news, thanks a lot!
Not that the game can reach anything near 60 FPS on my machine, but this patch is really good for a lot of PC players.
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
This is great news, thanks. But I am still not buying it till it's like $20.
-
You're more than getting your moneys worth with a 12 hour singleplayer campaign and really, really well done multiplayer. -
Sold me. I'll pick it up tonight and try it on my 120hz screen.
-
I don't agree.
I bought it and I say, DO NOT BUY IT! Yet. Great game, terrible PC version.
A couple of points to consider before buying it and supporting a company that S on us PC gamers:
No LAN.
No DLC for PC, no extra characters.
Performance not that good, depends on the system, never exceeds 30 FPS.
No tweakable config files whatsoever, and this is UT3 engine.
No mouse smoothing/acceleration options, sensitivity is wrong, up/down is way slower than left/right.
No achievements for PC, but the secrets are still in there, they just don't do anything.
No way to change any of the controls.
No way to message anyone, not in text, not in voice, just no chat function at all, in a co-op team based game?
Consider these points, and consider your own idealism. Would you want to support a company that offers such worthless support? -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
I only buy maybe 2 new games/year at launch. The rest I wait for a sale. -

I read it, if you read my previous post you would see that I complimented the topic starter (I thought it was you but it's not =D) for posting this. But just like the fixable controls (using AutoHotkey), it's 3rd party. It's not in the game, it's not supported, it's not meant to be used like this.
Though both are great solutions for when there is bad (official) support, I was just pointing out how bad the support is for the PC version. -
Nice work, with this patch I get 80 to 120 fps. Looks much smoother compared to the extremely lame 30 fps cap.
-
-
, I get were you are coming from though
-
Wow this patch is awesome...too bad we cant customize the key in order to engage the workaround. I have an m11x that doesn't have a numeric pad.
-
Thank you Pluberus! +rep -
you might be able to change the key yourself or email the coder to write it for another key
-
You shouldn't engage it until you're logged in, I've found and read that if you engage it when the game starts up before logging in, it's entirely possible that the game will then crash.

Never seen a reason to need to unlock fps myself. 30fps is fine 60 is great, anything past is pointless. What is important is that you do not dip below about 30fps but having a higher cap does not effect your low points, just makes your machine run harder/hotter.
Since I always use vsync many games get locked at 30fps if my machine does not keep in the 45+ range.
I wonder if this game is like the U3 engine and just requires you to go into the config files and change the fps cap limit variable. -

Just fly around as starscream in chapter 2 and you will see why the patch is definitely worth while...

I completely agree. And about that 30 FPS thing, that's because of the control and especially mouse responsiveness, as pro gamers say (I know a couple).
On a 60 or 120 Hz screen, with 60 FPS game performance, a mouse polling rate of 60 or 120 or 180 (all in steps of 60) and V-Sync on, you get absolute smooth performance and mouse movement, which is extremely important in high level tournament play. Pro Quake 3 players found it unforgivable if their games ever came under 60 FPS, or so I've been told. -
The ultimate question is how many people would of actually known it was capped at 30fps if they had not been told?

There is a big difference between 30 fps and 60 fps. I just tried this unlocker on my XPS M1730 and the game felt much smoother.
