Looks way too much like Halo to me and I just never got into Halo.

Have to admit though that Hi-Rez is ballsy doing an F2P FPS (that actually looks good) only supported by microtransactions...imagine if it took off...

Tribes came before Halo. Halo was influenced by Tribes. Bungie said so themselves. ;)

@Theros - They already have an F2P FPS (TPS actually) that is doing quite well. o_O

The original Tribes was one of my favorite games back in 2001 when it first came out. Although I see the resemblance, I don't think it is anything like Halo (if it is like the first Tribes anyway). You are basically flying around most of the time and it's much more team oriented....almost like Battlefield. I will totally be downloading this when it comes out! Especially for free! :)

Yeah. I loved the original Tribes games. I'm all about this.

@ViciousUSXMC: It's free to play. You really should at least try it. If it's got mechanics anything like the originals (it looks to from the video) it'll be awesome.

Well, true. Global Agenda didn't start as a F2P game though...and it's still more of an MMO than a real shooter.

Sorry, but you are totally wrong. It is a shooter first and foremost. Always has been, always will be. The tutorial/Desert open zone is VERY misleading. It's nowhere close to "WoW with guns". Also, it's been Buy2Play (Guild Wars style payment model) since the beginning.

I stand corrected! From my limited play time with it, it reminds me of the beta of Tabula Rasa...

I really hope Hi-rez studios can do a good job on this. So far it looks good and if its even remotely close to the original tribe series I will be over the moon
