I'm more interested in NVidia patching drivers to make them actual "DX12." As implied in the earlier fiasco by NVidia that hardware is there, coding is not. Hard to believe anything that comes from AMD or NVidia these days.
I partly blame consoles, do these companies even have a good reason to introduce new cutting edge tech for consumers if games will always be benchmarked on 5-10 year old console hardware?

Unless nVidia has had Pascal ready before 16nm was even ready, that was a Maxwell card set.

That's not possible. Also the likelihood of nVidia using the same neutered power phases of the 980M seems pretty unlikely with Pascal. Those are 980Ms they showed off. End of story. -
YOU TAKE THAT BACK
You have such trust in nVidia. Though you're probably right, they'll likely cut back on the power phases and give us even more neutered ones. -

I believe it was confirmed, though I don't remember where I read it, that they were very much Maxwell GM104 MXM modules. Those modules were supposed to be Pascal.Ethrem likes this. -
They're a perfect fit for a Maxwell GM204 980M board right down to the power phases.H.A.L. 9000 likes this.
