I would play this game if i was not busy with Anarchy Online for the moment.

Out of 51 reviews here ( http://www.gameogre.com/reviewdirectory/reviews/Perfect_World.php) the games average score is 8,26! That's higher than WOW, AoC, Everquest 2 and tons of other major MMOROGS!

I used to play this game in beta and it was very cool but than they only had an Malaysian server with only asian players, now the game is however out in USA and it has been a huge success so far.

The game is completely free and offers for example:

- excellent DX 9 graphic
- auction houses
- player shops
- advanced guild system where you are able to take over territories (this was not in the beta so i never tried it)
- 4 different craftig professions
- tons of flying and ground mounts
- 6 different classes
- 3 or 4 races
- quite many cool and unique items
- pets
- pvp/pk system and duels
- player banks
- quite good instances
- questing based gameplay until lvl 70 or so
- diablo/wowish skill tree
- easy teleportation system between the biggest cities
- Extremely well done character look customization system

I have never seen so many good features in a free MMORPG before so i recommend everyone to try it out. its quite fun whenyou get into it, especially if you like MMORPGS that are not too complex but still not super carebear. It is however a little easy and i miss more cmplexity but overall its superb to be free and rated as the best free MMORPG in the world at this moment

I will definitely check it out, thanks for the heads up. WoW is too worn out for me and WAR just did not interest me (nor did a monthly fee) so this could be just what I need.

Thats kinda small for a game these days

I registered already the download is 19% done I choose the direct download and its moving along at ~250kb/s

I probably should have gone torrent, but figured it may not be very well seeded. (I seed torrents at 250kb/s lol)

 

Its well seeded, I think, I dont know, there are ~50 seeds to ~10 peers and its averaging out at 250kb/s anyway, so your not missing anything.

 

I'll give it a try. Torrent is giving me around 650 kb/s right now, 86 seeds 26 peers if you wanted to know.

(Played PW Philippines for awhile.. got tired of it. MMOs always cause problems within my circle of rl friends lol)

 

It jumped up to close to 1mb/s at some point and I let it download while I took a nap.

going to try to create a character here in abit after I feed the kids lunch.

 

Hmm I am having issues, game is fully downloaded, installed, and updated.

I set my settings to the max (my pc should handle it easy) and the game wont start. I hit "start" and the launcher closes and nothing comes up.

edit: fixed must have been the direct 3d overider that I used for WAR that was keeping it from starting (forces vsync)

 

any chance that i'll hook up with any of you guys? downloading now!

 

I only played for a few min, graphics look pretty good I have it maxed out 1920x1080 but the interface & stuff is going to take me a while to get used to its way different and does not seem as friendly as what I am used to, so I did not feel like learning it right now and just turned off the game.

Im on the PVP server BTW.

Played for a while today. Its a pretty cool game. I have it maxed at 1900x1200 and it looks beautiful.

 

Lol finally, an international version.

I tried the game before as the original game so i was playing on singapore servers.

it was very laggy..

well ill try it on North American servers now

 

The territory control thing sounds cool, but usually the super high level people with the god-like gear owns like almost all the land.

 

lol, aren't most MMO's like that? but that gives you something to strive for.

I will still go check it out more when I find time, today it was not interesting to me with the strange interface (small icons, non standard HUD for attacks/spells, non standard quest screen ect)

Pretty deep level of character customization, if a free game can do it why cant real games like WAR have some detail in them...

 

Its a good game and i must mention they also got a lot of fun player events like horse racing and treasure finding etc.

The reason the game is much better and deeper than other free mmorpg's is simply because this game is developed in China while almost all the others r from Korea. This means that this game has a much bigger budget than all the Korean free mmoprgs

 

Download Age of Conan. Then play it for a while and determine if that download was worth the wait. Methinks you'll be happy with the 2.5GB download in the end.

Got it downloaded in about 3 hours yesterday. Gotta say I love how it still runs well on my T60 Thinkpad with an X1300 and still looks decent. It looks fabulous on my desktop (Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB).

I was most impressed that this was a free game. There is a great amount of character customization. I've played 4 characters up to level 9 and it's been nice. My only complaints so far are similar to ViciousXUSMC: I think the UI could use some work, a lot of it is pretty tiny and that minimap is down right worthless. I would also love for the controls to be user determined, although I am adjusting.

Great game, worth giving a try if you're an MMORPG fan.

Tempted to try it, but only one main concern- is it one of those "Super-Anime" styled games? I can't stand that style. (I hate anime, and anything like it) The screen shot looks a lot like that type of art.

Has anyone played knight online? Its free too. I used to play it...a lot.

 

Firt to Kgann or however u spell ur name . The game have little bit of a anime look.

And to qutoe about Knight Online, i can say its a really horrible game compared to this one

 

I played Perfect World to like lvl 40 something. Its pretty addicting in the beginning, but like, come on, like all mmo it gets really repeatitive. Not that it wasnt fun. After lvl 35+ you will definately feel the repeat.
First you need to kill 20 of some monsters, THEN you need to kill 30 of some other same looking monster that just has a different color, THEN you kill 40 of some more monsters. Its just pots, monsters, talking, shop, lvl, REPEAT AGAIN.

If you like killing 40 of the same monster which takes like 30minutes to 1 hour, then repeat that so you can lvl?.... umm i would just play some DOTA or CS.

At least you wont feel that you regret spending time (wasting time) on some mmo that gives no satisfaction in the end

 

Well that's how most MMORPG's are. If you don't like em you can play PS3 or something else.

 

That's the world of MMO's... boiled down. Just go play CS or something if you don't enjoy MMO's. We do.

I also dislike anime a lot and thats the only bad thing about the game. I think any person above 25 should agree with me on this...

People say anime is for the elder people too, but i don't see it that way. I think its childish and annoying.

P.S this is based only from my experience with Naruto and a few other series and owning 4 anime video sites. Basically i just dislike the japanese cartoon concept and hentai for grown ups. Please grow up if you still watch hentai, and play Dead or Alive. Sorry i had a bad day -_-

I also hate the fact that everyone that watch anime are wanna be's Japanese or mixed Japanese, i mean common get a life and stop lying to urself. Being a fake japanese dude that watch anime pretty much means that u fail.

I like anime, its more adult in content than even rated R movies.

Im a father of 4 kids lol, not elderly but older. Guess it depends on what kind of anime you watch.

I find you can do much more with animation than you can live action so the greatness is only limited by the creators thoughts rather than his cast & budget for filming plus you have anime than span hundreds of episodes allowing time for proper character development, plot, background ect. Movies cant do that, and personally I find most TV shows totally lame, and dont even get me started on how bad reality tv is.

 

I do not like anime either but I figured i would try the game out since it is free. Well I picked the human caster (wizard) and tryed to make him look as non anime as possible. The character creation system was very deep but you can easily see the anime influence on a lot of the character options. Started the game with all max settings at 1400 900 res and it gave me mixed feelings.

The UI is not that bad but maybe at higher res It may look very small. The animations for the wizard were awful. He walked like a robot and jumped like a kangaroo on steroids. The water graphics looks very nice with great reflections. Looking at far off cliffs and waterfalls looked great and made the game look very well but when you looked at all the things close to you it didn't look so great. I would call it a guildwars with good distant graphics and low close up graphics.

This game also put a good strain on my laptop. t7300 with 3gig of ram , 8600m gt card overclocked at 450mem/ 625 core. I played the WAR beta and that game on all high settings looked much better and ran at 30+ frames. This game ran at 20 fps and dipped to 15 fps a few times.

Overall I would say if you are into anime and are low on cash then this game could be fun. If you have played Wow, guildwars, or warhammer then this game will more than likely disappoint.

ive played this game when i was still in the philippines ... also played Lineage, RF ... still playing MU online(phil) ... looking into Cabal and Dekaron now ...
im still into MU, i can go AFK and still my char keeps on leveling upÜ ... i dont think you can do that with PW?

I'm currently downloading it at home, looks great.

If it's one of those MMO's that people have multiple files on, I'm going to level an Archer and Blademaster.

Because my connection isn't too fast I've had to download it in part files. The second part file seems a bit dodgy though, it failed even though I was still connected... Are there any clients available that still continue to download even if you restart your PC? Bittorrent said it would take a week to download it lol that's why I tried it in parts.

I like what I've seen so far. Not that I'm complaining but, it seems crazy that this one with its quality graphics is free compared to WoW. But then I've never played WoW, so I can't say whether the monthly price is worth it. Plus you it could be argued that those addicted will stick with WoW nomatter what and the company 'needs all the money they get' to support the current number of players.

Hope it stays free generally and only makes you pay for extra items and not extra areas on the map. Still that would be better than having p2p, unless people who joined early get to still play free lol

 

Man this game is much deeper than I thought it was, I hoped over to there forums and it has everything. Its like a combo of WoW + Phantasy Star Online... Way too good to be true for a free game.

I love the armor/fashion designs, the mounts in this game blow all other mmo's out of the water.

2 things I need to know, how the heck can I invert the Y - Axis on my mouse I do not like the default, and is there any equilvant to tab targeting? I hate having to click monsters manually.

Also I see you can lose items when you die via pvp and you lose XP, so I may want to re roll on a pve server lol. Especially as a Wizard.

Still have not played much only lvl 2 wiz, but been reading up on the noobie area on the offical forums to get more educated. I am going to be sending some friends to this game that just quit WoW I think they will like it.

oh and graphics are GREAT maxed out 1080p on my 37"

 

I must say after playing for a few days, this game is quite addicting. More so than Guild Wars in my opinion; made better by the fact that it's completely free. I think I like the venomancers the best, there is nothing like having a pet scorpion haha.
