    Hi guys,

owner of a brand new M11x. Loving it so far but im trying to squeeze out a bit more performance from the GPU.

I have downloaded the Nvidia System Tools. In the performance program i have tried increasing the settings as follows:

    CORE CLOCK :500
    MEM CLOCK: 810
    SHADER CLOCK: 1130

i save this as a new profile and then click apply. It then brings up an error of:

The changes made are invalid and will not be applied.

Any ideas on why this is? Am i being a noob? (probs)

Are you sure that you should be getting more out of the GPU?

The CPU... SU 7300, is already a major bottleneck. That's the one that should be OC'ed if anything I think!

I use EVGA Precision to overclock mine, works great, and has an option to link the clocks, which makes overcloking very easy. Plus, it monitors temps, and will display all this info and framerate in an on screen display in the game.

GPU is quite a bit more powerful than the CPU, but it definitely helps in some games to overclock the GPU, and it's cooled really well, so enjoy! But absolutely set the CPU to overclock in the bios as well.

nTools can really be hit or miss at times. You might want to check out RivaTuner, though I don't know whether it plays nicely with newer cards or drivers.

Hi guys thanks for the info!

Tried the EVGA Precision. No joy as it still just sets the clocks back to default. Thought it may be the drivers. so updated those, still no luck.

    any more ideas?

Have you tried MSI Afterburner? It's developed by Unwinder (of Rivatuner fame) and MSI. Works very well on my m11X. Get it here

Does the M11x have stealth mode? If so, open up EVGA precision, sync it with the GPU (you'll see a large 1 in a bar in the middle column and a 'SYNC' button below that column). Click 'Apply at windows startup'. Then, turn stealth mode On, then Off again, and now try changing the settings. Right click in a profile box to create a profile for those settings.

I believe there is some kind of a check box that says "apply at windows startup" on EVGA.

Did you make sure to plug in to a power outlet?

I think you may need to do a clean wipe of your existing graphics driver (uninstall, reboot, manually delete all the files in your Nvidia folder that begin with "nv") and then download/install the latest driver from laptopvideo2go.com
