As the title explains, I have a laptop with the following specs:
Core 2 Duo 1.66
2GB ram
Intel 965 express chipset shared video
I can run CS 1.6 right now but when I'm in firefights or on zombie maps my FPS drops to like 5 and makes it impossible to aim etc. I know the graphics card is **** etc. but all I want is to play some rounds of 1.6 every once in a while. I'm currently running my settings on OpenGL, everything the lowest it will go. Since I only have 2GB of ram, i was wondering if I bought another 2GB stick for $40 - would that bring me up to 30 or so FPS since my video is shared? Also if anyone has any tips to bring my FPS up like some console scripts I would appreciate it. Also before anyone suggests, I have updated my graphics card with the latest intel chipset driver. thanks again!

Edit: i also suggest that u play CSS instead of CS 1.6 because on CSS i get average 35 FPS! -
Did you just ask if two gigs of ram will increase your frame rate by 25 frames?
Counter-Strike isn't the most memory intensive game. If you can't run it with 2GB, 4GB isn't going to help you very much. -
Cool where do I put all that stuff?
Also do you mean 25fps when you are in a firefight? that's where it really kills me, like I'm going in slow motion. -
I said that I get 5FPS at the worst times, otherwise I average 15-25 or so depending whats going on. I was asking if its worth the 40$ to see a noticeable change. -
time to change my sig, that was my old laptop. The specs are in my post.

Chil, Coleman. We're not trying to be sarcastic jerks - that's just the way we are. We're also just trying to help.
I honestly don't think 2GB of ram is going to help you, but you're more than welcome to try. -
How about my FPS config did it help?
-
Hey satyrion can I use that same scripts for CSS? If so what file do I put it on, the cfg file for CSS looks different than CS1.6, do I copy and paste it in there anyways?
-
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\jitsugrappler\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg
that it? -
omg do u even can load a cfg? the command for it is "exec" in cs 1.6 console
create *.cfg and type "exec *.cfg" -
No use this one for CSS
