    I should be getting my new laptop later next week.

    It has a Turion MT-37, 128MB X700 and 1GB Ram..

    I take it that should play Far Cry, UT 2003, Doom 3 OK ??

    You're only going to be limited by the video card, which is pretty good in this case. You will have to turn settings down on the higher end games like Doom 3.

    do you think the x700 will be able to run future games like the eldar scrolls oblivion when it comes out at the end of the year

    It should definately be able to run it. I'm guessing it should be able to run it on medium settings, but I really haven't looked at that game much since I'm not into RPG"s. x700 will work for quite a while, but it just won't be as graphically impressive as a 6800 for example.

    nice im glad you think it will dont worry i wasnt expecting to run oblivion at max settings or anything only a new gefoce 7000 series card could do that i just hope the developers are working hard to make shure the game runs better on lower cards than morrowind did.
