I was wondering if there are any PC games that are turnbased similar to the final fantasy games (except 12 and 11). No medieval setting games please.
Thanks!

If you like WWII and Modern Warfare I would check out the Combat Mission series. You can find them at www.battlefront.com. They use a "We-Go" format. During your turn you select your commands. Then you hit go and watch for 1 minute as your soldiers follow the commands. Then you repeat the process.
They just released Combat Mission: Shockforce which is modern combat set in the future (2008) with the hypothetical US invasion of Syria.

well if your adamant about playing them for pc, i can't help you. But if you have a ps2 i strongly recommend the nippon ichi games (disgaea, phantom brave) They are fantastic turn-based strategy rpgs. They have a final fantasy feel and quirky 2-d graphics, and the spells look pretty awesome too.

Three of the Warhammer 40,000 games made in the late nineties are turn-based. That's gettin' kinda old though. If you have a gameboy advance, DS, or DS Lite, then you owe it to yourself to find Tactics Ogre.

If you haven't played them, and you can stand playing old games, try Fallout and Fallout 2. The story is good, and they turn-basedish. Otherwise Combat Mission like was mentioned already. FF7 has a PC version as well I think heh.
Though not an RPG, you could try the Civ series for some turn based fun.
