Is this even worth it?
I've heard mixed things about this game, that it's decent but that it's riddled with bugs.
Thoughts, anyone?

hmm for $10 id say it's worth it. I didnt like the demo at all.

$10 isnt that much for a game. Have a few more reads on reviews/comments.. that might help you decide
If you do buy it, let us know how the game goes. -

Steam will work in offline mode, naturally you cant do anything like online play or updates, but all your non online games are fully usable.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
really? i might have to have a look at this when i get my new laptop.
is thier a UK version or can i buy the games from the US site. -
No steam is worldwide butyou have to pay the games by $US currency by either credit card or paypal.
Once you buy the game you can play it offline as much as you want and download it as much as you want to any computer providing that you log on your steam account. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thats cool the $$$ is worth twice amount as the £££, is thier any paypal fee added to that?
-
No offence but I honestly don't think that game is worth $10 - just my 2 cents though, cheers.
-
Steam is brilliant!
-
for 10 dollars, it's worth it - it's nothing to write home about, story was generic, but it was a Gothic 3/Oblivion clone and being such had a fair amount of game play, the loot was varied and I thought had a good design, and it had a huge world.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
sound great. -
Well, two worlds does have a multiplayer component. Is that any fun? Also, a new expansion is due out soon.
If I buy through steam, will they give me a serial that I can register with a non-steam version? I'd prefer not to have to use steam. Id like could just use my friend's copy of the game to install it with the cdkey from steam. -
Actually, the demo sucked because in the real game they patched it and fixed lag, slowdowns, all that stuff.
It felt a lot better on 360, should be even better on the PC...so if you love RPG's, I'd say try it. -

I own the game, its fun. For 10 bucks, its worth it.
-
How long is it going to be on sale for 10 dollars? Did it specify it was for the weekend only? Also, what was the price before the sale.
Do they give you a cd key that can be registered with a non-steam version? -
im not sure for two worlds but you usually need to go on steam first before you can play the game. You can only play offline steam once you have succesfully logged in once and saved your login credentials
-
Yea but steam games are stored in a strange file format. It makes it difficult to play mods and it will probably require that the new expansion pack be purchased through steam.
-
Hmm, apparently Xbox360 users recently got a new downloadable content pack for Two Worlds that adds about 10 hours of gameplay. I wonder if that will be made available to pc users.

Two World is NOT worth the $10!!!

Are the servers for Two world empty? -
Crimsonman Ex NBR member
The MP is actually pretty fun. But its kind of laggy. Although they did get a new patch that's 2 gb
-
Are you sure its 2gb? The 1.0 to 1.6 is only 1.09gb http://browse.files.filefront.com/Two+Worlds+Official+Patches+v16/;2118900;/browsefiles.html
What is MP like? Is there deathmatch modes? -
Crimsonman Ex NBR member
You're right. It's little. Whoops.
The MP is fun. You just run around and do stuff. But with the new patch the lag has been fixed -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thats what i would you would need to do, i hope not
can anyone confirm that wether you HAVE to login to your steam account to gain access to the games you have brought. -
Sorry to be nit picking. -

You will be able to play the game because you download it right to your harddrive.
-

-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan

If you have the steam version, you will need to buy the new expansion (Temptation) through steam as well, right?

After reading this:
"Two Worlds is not just a single player game, however, as the game features some nice multiplayer options in two mode. You can play instanced missions (like Guild Wars) with several other players in the RPG-mode, or conduct hot player vs. player action in the arenas. Either way, you are given separate online characters with pre-set classes that make everyone competitive right out of the gate, instead of rewarding just those people who completed the single player portion of Two Worlds. You can choose from a warrior, sword dancer, knight, ranger, thief, archer, barbarian, air mage, fire mage, water mage, earth mage, or necromancer; each has slightly different starting skills and diverse weapons and spells at their disposal. The RPG matches seem to offer different quests from the single player game, rather than just being a cooperative copy. The arena matches offer team deathmatch and domination-type games where you have to destroy the enemy’s base or monsters." http://jaguarusf.blogspot.com/search?q=two+worlds
I am more tempted to buy it. I've heard the latest patch fixes most of the lag issues, but I wonder if the servers are mostly empty? Can anyone let us know? -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thats what i was worried about.
but if the game is on your HD why do you have
to log into steam before you can play the game? -
-
I just purchased it. Its downloading now, but there doesn't seem to be any way to view the cd key for the game. Maybe it will be stored in the registry after it is finished downloading and installing.
-
The key is tied to your Steam account.
-
-
Crimsonman Ex NBR member
what he means is when you buy it no key is required
-
steam is the key.
-
When you activate your game (in-game, not on steam) they give you a 16-characters key, which must be written somewhere for reference. You don't need to look any further

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I just disabled my intenet connection restarted steam and it ran in offline mode, I had access to halflife 2 ,ep1&2, audiosurf, and CSS. When I bought halflife2 orginally I just had dial up, once the game was installed, I could play it all I wanted without everlogging in, to add a game or update I had to log in, but not to simply play.
As long as your steam account is valid, you can download the game(s) anytime, say your sick of it and need room on your HD, delete it, then 6 months down the line you want to play it again, go to my games list, it will be there and listed as not installed, click install, it will dowload, install and your good to go, or your hard drive fails, when you replace it, login to steam and simply download it again, I was worried about it at first way back, what if it fails and shuts down? Thats not gonna happen anytime soon, it eliminates a lot of problems, lost/broken discs, lost cd keys, and allows you to play pretty much anywhere you have a capeable machine and an internet connection. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
oh thats okay then.
thanx for the help to clear things up -
Do NOT buy this for online play. Hardly anyone is on the servers. Only 5 people...
Two Worlds $10 on Steam this weekend.
