    Is this even worth it?

I've heard mixed things about this game, that it's decent but that it's riddled with bugs.

    Thoughts, anyone?

$10 isnt that much for a game. Have a few more reads on reviews/comments.. that might help you decide

If you do buy it, let us know how the game goes.

No steam is for free. You can buy a games licence off steam which is tied to your steam account. Once you have bought that game, you can download it off steam and play it as much as you want

Steam will work in offline mode, naturally you cant do anything like online play or updates, but all your non online games are fully usable.

No steam is worldwide butyou have to pay the games by $US currency by either credit card or paypal.

Once you buy the game you can play it offline as much as you want and download it as much as you want to any computer providing that you log on your steam account.

for 10 dollars, it's worth it - it's nothing to write home about, story was generic, but it was a Gothic 3/Oblivion clone and being such had a fair amount of game play, the loot was varied and I thought had a good design, and it had a huge world.

Well, two worlds does have a multiplayer component. Is that any fun? Also, a new expansion is due out soon.

If I buy through steam, will they give me a serial that I can register with a non-steam version? I'd prefer not to have to use steam. Id like could just use my friend's copy of the game to install it with the cdkey from steam.

Actually, the demo sucked because in the real game they patched it and fixed lag, slowdowns, all that stuff.

It felt a lot better on 360, should be even better on the PC...so if you love RPG's, I'd say try it.

How long is it going to be on sale for 10 dollars? Did it specify it was for the weekend only? Also, what was the price before the sale.

Do they give you a cd key that can be registered with a non-steam version?

im not sure for two worlds but you usually need to go on steam first before you can play the game. You can only play offline steam once you have succesfully logged in once and saved your login credentials

Yea but steam games are stored in a strange file format. It makes it difficult to play mods and it will probably require that the new expansion pack be purchased through steam.

Thats kind of an ambiguous question. Yes you need to log into steam to play the games you buy there. What we want to know is whether they send you a legitimate key that can be registered to a non-steam edition.

    Sorry to be nit picking.

In order to play offline, you have to select the offline mode while you are logged in to Steam. If you just shut down steam and then try to play offline it will no let you do it.

    After reading this:

"Two Worlds is not just a single player game, however, as the game features some nice multiplayer options in two mode. You can play instanced missions (like Guild Wars) with several other players in the RPG-mode, or conduct hot player vs. player action in the arenas. Either way, you are given separate online characters with pre-set classes that make everyone competitive right out of the gate, instead of rewarding just those people who completed the single player portion of Two Worlds. You can choose from a warrior, sword dancer, knight, ranger, thief, archer, barbarian, air mage, fire mage, water mage, earth mage, or necromancer; each has slightly different starting skills and diverse weapons and spells at their disposal. The RPG matches seem to offer different quests from the single player game, rather than just being a cooperative copy. The arena matches offer team deathmatch and domination-type games where you have to destroy the enemy’s base or monsters." http://jaguarusf.blogspot.com/search?q=two+worlds

I am more tempted to buy it. I've heard the latest patch fixes most of the lag issues, but I wonder if the servers are mostly empty? Can anyone let us know?

No you don't have to log every time. Just before closing Steam online (like after downloading the game) choose the start in File -> Go offline. Then you will never have to go online again to play your games (unless you want to update, buy a new game or play multiplayer).

When you activate your game (in-game, not on steam) they give you a 16-characters key, which must be written somewhere for reference. You don't need to look any further :D

I just disabled my intenet connection restarted steam and it ran in offline mode, I had access to halflife 2 ,ep1&2, audiosurf, and CSS. When I bought halflife2 orginally I just had dial up, once the game was installed, I could play it all I wanted without everlogging in, to add a game or update I had to log in, but not to simply play.

As long as your steam account is valid, you can download the game(s) anytime, say your sick of it and need room on your HD, delete it, then 6 months down the line you want to play it again, go to my games list, it will be there and listed as not installed, click install, it will dowload, install and your good to go, or your hard drive fails, when you replace it, login to steam and simply download it again, I was worried about it at first way back, what if it fails and shuts down? Thats not gonna happen anytime soon, it eliminates a lot of problems, lost/broken discs, lost cd keys, and allows you to play pretty much anywhere you have a capeable machine and an internet connection.

Do NOT buy this for online play. Hardly anyone is on the servers. Only 5 people...
