    Dell studio 1555(first)
    Dual Core T4200 Intel Dual Core T4200 2.0GHz / 1MB L2 Cache / 800MHz FSB, Intel PM45 chipset
    15.6" HD Wide TrueLife display (1366 x 768),
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 512MB
    2 GB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 RAM

    Dell studio 15558(second)
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2,10GHz (2MB cache)
    15.6" Led Backllight 1366 x 768
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 512MB
    4 GB DDR2 667MHz

I konw that second one is much better for gaming but how better?
Will I notice any difference in Gothic 3, Borderlands, Mass effect on medium.
The first one is much cheaper.
    Thanks

I don't think there would be that much of a difference between the two systems if you're looking to play games on medium settings. As far as I can tell, most games are GPU dependent. Seeing as both of the systems you listed have the Radeon 4570, I think they'd perform similarly in games.

The slower CPU might show its weakness sooner than the slightly better CPU.

How much of a price difference are you talking about here? If it's something huge like $200-300, you might as well go for the cheaper system and buy a new processor from newegg and put it in. Just a suggestion for you ONCE the warranty goes out. (Changing the processor probably voids the warranty.)

Other than the slight difference in CPU, they are exactly the same. :p

And that .1GHz increase is completely unnoticeable. They will both perform the same ;)

What about 4 Gb of ram on second laptop. I'm planning to get Win 7.
Will 4 gb be noticeable change in modern games on win 7?

Ah, my bad. I missed that.

But anyway, that will help with multitasking, yes. I recommend 3GB+ for some decent multitasking. ;)

For gaming, no. i doubt the extra memory will be noticeable. :)
