Okay i am actually at the buying page for a DELL XPS 17 L702, with 2630QM, 6gb ram, 640gb 7200rpm and a 3gb gt555m. for 720 english pounds. do you think its a good buy? i was considering other laptops as well but this is the cheapest i have found and dell its a good company tbh. think i care about is if gt555m will be able to handle bf3 with fluent fps? i don't care about ultra graphics or so, i just want it to run fluently at a proper level. what do you think? is it a good buy?

It is a good computer if you are considering playing at 720p (like me). Above that, at least a 560m would be good.

    Why is this urgent?

Should play fine. Most of the strenuous settings are junk anyway. Crap like HBAO, SSAO, Blur, Motion Bur, Bloom, Lens Flare and other post processing crap that do not mimic reality but rather flaws of cameras.

Even on a higher system, I disable all that crap.

I agree, and find that bloom most of the time ruins a game's graphical quality

got that laptop... tis fine... don't worry about being able to play it - have seen vids on youtube of people with the GTX 560m running the game at a decent mix of high/ultra/med settings and still pulling 40fps at 1080p... overclock the gt555m a little bit, drop the res to 900/720p and you'll still get high settings out of this game on the l702x
