Ok i just re-installed win vista home premium SP2 all latest driverson my laptop in sig.The only games i really play are ut2004 and 03,ut2004 plays just fine, but ut2003 has a slow down then runs fine slow down, kinda like it goes in slow motion.
My laptop should run this game fine,i read on here that vista has like a 30-35% frame rate loss on some games!.Anyway im at a loss,i put all features to their lowest setting's no help.Im planning on upgrading my HD here soon to 7200 series.
Any ideas, this laptop is the only game in town so i would like to figure this one out with you laptop game guru's......thanks.

Was that laptop able to play the game fine before? -
No,i tried game couple months ago with same results,so i took it off and recently installed ut2004 and it runs fine.Thats what i dont get how could one game run fine and not the other.
I sold my gaming desktop,(needed money)now im having FPS withdraws...lol
Maybe the faster HD will help.
Also ran the game in cmpatibility mode but no help either.....At a loss. -
A faster hard drive won't help with constant low framerates. It must be a software issue.
-
I don't see why you want to play UT2003 when you have UT2004 which works perfectly.
-
Probably your video card is weak and not enough to handle the game, or maybe just like namaiki said, might be a software issue, try updating you video card driver, or look for the best driver Intel offers.
Just another thing, do you feel somehow like more heat coming from the laptop when you're in the parts where like "slow motion" occurs ?
If so, then it might some heat issues that leads to down clocking, so you might want to have a cooler for your laptop. -
Ya it must be a vista thing,oh well like mentioned above ill just stick with ut2004 for now.As far as heat goes i did notice my fan really spinning on ut2003 during game play so it could be part of the equation.
It would be temping to stick xp on this machine to see if it changes things,if it wasnt such a pain in the arse i would try it...... -
Isn't that an integrated card with a single core processor running a graphics intensive 3D game, I don't think that is a Vista problem.

Overclock? Lol, its an odd issue, prehaps if there is a vsync option on you can untick it.
UT2003+laptop= issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!
