So I was still happily fragging online until 4:09PM EST so I guess they caught on after 10 minutes...
But right now I still have the game running and im playing in campaign mode (^_^)
Im not rebooting or closing this game until I either get the game gifted or something happens by natural cause![]()

I own the game and registered my key with steam but it did not add my current installed game to my steam games.... Its going to make me uninstall my current retail install and download & install the steam version
-
Steam is a very inconvenient and intrusive DRM system. Impulse is much better. -

Steam may not be "all that" but its close. Its a good networking hub for gamers (our NBR Clan for instance) and I love being able to digital download my games at any time without the physical game. I have lost one or two (or more) games in my day and now thats not a problem. Also no disk needed for steam games by default. -
I just added my ut3 as a non steam game. The in game chat works in the retail version.
-
Well I cant seem to get online for specific servers, ill try getting into an online campaign later on
I LOVE THE GIANT BATTLEFIELDS, but I hate the CORES I dont know why, the capture and move on approach seems to get old fast...
Anyways... yeah im still playing, 2 hours after the end -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
he bought the retail version of the game (not related to steam)
and WANTED to apply steam to it.
this means that for this person, steam is a DESIRABLE service, not intrusive drm.
as much as i like to refrain from taking such extreme sides, steam IS all that. steam is one of the best things to happen to the PC gaming industry recently. period. -
I loved UT 2004 with the spider mines and vehicles (manta) but I found it harder to get into this one.
Also I get annoyed quickly when some 14 year keeps insta-killing me with a shock beam with bot-like accuracy. It's not noob friendly like TF2, more for the hardcore no lifers. -
i like steam, keeps my games all patched up and i can install/uninstall them at any time i want.
but it's still a restrictive DRM,
you can't sell your games, you have to activate your games, offline mode doesn't always work, and if valve ever go bankrupt, there will be legal issues with the games you purchased. -
i need more practice -
I LOVE STEAM (Everything has its flaws guys)
If I had multiple computers I could enjoy my gaming in different places without having to haul a harddrive around etc...
All I need is the STEAMAPPS folder and wherever I go I click download on one game, pause the download, shut steam go to the Steamapps folder and paste mine in and VOILA all my games, no download times, all saves are there, profile, custom maps skins sprays etc...
UT3, I finished playing the game yesterday and gamed all day today online... its OK... not my kinda game
Still free for me though, hahaha
Come on steam, shut me down -
Guy lets not turn this into why we all love steam thread again, just let Beatsiz have his moment for playing a free gaming longer than he intended. I foresee you getting bored of UT3 and in rage shuting your computer off o and we are all screw if someone were to blow up all the steam servers! lol...j/k
-
Im just wondering why I am still playing
I do get bored fast but I like playing around with the engine in real gameplay...
How old is it again?
CRYENGINE 3 FTW ! ! ! -

Instagib is an epic word, but whenever I die from instagib its humiliating ahaha -
Beatsiz, how do you copy the folder? isn't it same as transfering to a USB/hdd..etc?

I never liked UT3 that much, but I think I need to revisit it now the servers are connected to steam. More players should make it more fun. Before any player you ran into was a UT3 fan and thus very good at the game.
UT2004 was my most played online FPS ever I think, BF2 and BF2142 close behind.
UT3 just did not capture the same kind of feeling that 2004 did. However the engine is just GREAT, its probably one of the best if not best game engines out there that give you great graphics without a high hardware demand, and also scales back very far to allow people with older machines to play.
Many games that are not UT3 use the UT3.exe example. Mass Effect.
I miss onslaught mode too much, the new mode that is supposed to be similar is not similar enough for me -
Yeah pretty much, all you have to do is copy the STEAMAPPS folder
When you get your new steam installed, go to your games, press download for one of them, once its started, stop it and shut steam
Then just go to your steam folder and paste the entire STEAMAPPS, if using vista use the merge options -
Yeah their all based on the UT3 Engine... called... UT3 Engine
I dont remember playing onslaught at all -
Still playing for free today after school
hahaha -
So basically you just never leave the game?
-
Warfare is definitely the best mode
Starting to get ultra bored with this game seriously... needs sooo much more physics, vehicles and players are the only things that actually move/break basically -
My computer froze because of full hard drive (virtual space?)
And when it restarted it well... UT3 wasnt there anymore ^^ haha
But im definitely finished with it -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
lol well at least you lived it up when it was available

You nearly reached the 2 day mark though~ Congratz

Well I guess a free weekend of gaming is always a good thing. But considering it only costs $11.99 sounds like it's worth the money.
-
Well there's already alot of physics objects in the PhysX maps, but nothing really all that interactive, and that's because server side physics take alot of bandwidth and would severely lag down any but the most powerful servers. Client side physics are far less costly, and that's pretty much what you get in the physX maps. But those require an nVidia GPU with PhysX or an Ageia PPU.
UT3 Demo Steam Ended *NOT*
