So it looks like Steam is having a 75% sale on select Ubisoft Games. Link below. Didn't put this in the Steam Sale thread as I want to know if there is a quick way to determine which games still require Uplay without actually clicking through each one. Any suggestions?

    Steam Search

Edit: Looking to see which games DO NOT require Uplay (ie NOT FC 3, etc)

You must play Far Cry 3 if you havent.Especially if you love games with a lot freedom.I finished it so i tell you that from my experience...also take a look Far cry 3 blood dragon is good but i have played just the beggining cause im more focused currently on AC4,GTA 4 and Just cause 2...and my third suggestion would be call of juarez gunslinger(havent played but read positive about that game)

Probably all of them cause Ubisoft likes to screw with you. JK. :p

This might be a good opportunity to test out Steam's new user-tagging feature. All the games tagged with Uplay are here. See if the games you're interested in are in there.

the tag isn't working because From Dust isn't there. and last time i played ruse I didn't need Uplay, unless they changed it and its another game I won't play again

Is this UPlay stuff optional or mandatory? Sounds like a pain to me, and not unlike GFWL. I just want to buy a game and be able to play it without jumping through DRM hoops, and based on Wikipedia's description it sounds like a DRM platform that sometimes also has always-on requirements or Internet-at-launch requirements - in other words, a royal pain. And even if it's just signing in to it upon starting the game, that still seems like an unnecessary hoop.

I have heard good things about Rocksmith. Are the Steam tags accurate that only the 2014 version and not the older one has UPlay? Might pick up the older one someday if I ever do decide to learn guitar if that is the case.

It's exactly like GFWL. Uplay is the inferior Ubisoft analog to Origin and Steam. Uplay games bought on Steam require both Steam and Uplay to be running. DRM-ception!

Uplay isn't quite as bad as GFWL. GFWL is pretty much the worst thing to ever happen to PC gaming. I'm glad it's dead and I hope it burns in hell!

I haven't really had much of an issue with Uplay, but GFWL..... as octiceps said, I have had to result to piracy on many occasions due to games that I legally bought not being able to work. Now, because of the shutdown of GFWL, I had to download backup pirated copies of my games that use it, in case they don't get transferred to Steamworks.... or in cases like Halo 1, 2, and Gears of War, simply just disappear.

As for the sale itself, nothing really catches my eye that I don't own already. But, if you love stealth/action games grab Splintercell and Assssin's Creed. Farcry series is also pretty good, and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic is awesome, really recommend that one.

On a more serious note, a true PC Gamer must buy Petz, the entire Petz series, we all need Petz. The Petz Collection is THE GAME COLLECTION to get of this sale, much fun, highly addictive, wow.

To me it's the other way around - GFWL caused only minor annoyances with the initial login to me, while nearly every Ubisoft game just refused to run for me. And you would think that they learn from their mistakes and patch things up with time, but it only degrades further and further: I felt like reminiscing with Far Cry 3 and downloaded it again on Steam two days ago, but it refused to run, no matter what I've tried and any workaround I tried. After all this time after release and after rummaging in forums for a day for a fix, I've had to download a crack for my purchased Uplay game yet again.

A$$-Creed 4 was even worse, I worked for 2 weeks to find a workaround, and a day later a patch was released and automatically installed which brought me back to square one. I have no idea how anyone can say that this isn't the worst thing ever for PC.
