This wacky driver problems i'm having i can't stand it. i think its due to the intel driver. it states that the driver could not be loaded by windows. now its only running the intel driver and the nvidia is off. is there anyway i can make the system not recognize the intel hardware at all so that its only on nvidia graphics. don't care about battery life since its always hooked up to an ac and the battery is just in its box.

Check your bios , my Acer has the option to disable the INTEL so that the ATI is only usable.

you could disable 'plug and play' in services.msc , it won't detect any new hardware for which you don't have a driver already installed, but you will also experience weird stuff like CCC/nvidia equivalent being unable to detect your videocard, even though the driver works. Also I can disable PnP in XP, but not in vista

basically you do it just to see if it stops bugging you about the driver, then put pnp back on

Problem with plug and play, is that it can't be disabled.
