Unofficial NBR SimCity Region!

I have been playing SimCity for the past few days and really enjoying it. That said, it is difficult to get into a good region and have friends to play with.

With that in mind, I am starting an NBR SimCity region on the Antarctica server! I chose Antarctica because it's open all the time and I think has the fewest players.

I got the game in the deal where you could buy it from the Indian Origin. Otherwise I may not have gotten it. If you can look past the city size limits, it really is a fun game.

 

thats an exploit, not really a deal . But yeah so many people did that to the point EA have to remove the game from the Indian store.

It's still around $27 if you're using a VPN that offers an Indian IP address like Astrill. Those services cost money, however, so unless you already have the service, it may not be worth it. I simply don't have the time right now to play, but when I do I'll buy it. Hopefully it will be a lot cheaper by then.

 

Wow Sim City. The last Sim city I played was Sim City 2000 lol. How does that compare to this version!?

 

Lol, well the fact that SimCity 2000 was coded for a 16-bit system should say a lot. It's still one of my favorite games, though.

kev I can give you some money if you need. Took me about 1-2 hours to get a sity with 1 million profit per month . Currently have 2million in the bank haha. Nice dirty coal mines + ore mines + ,metal/ore makes a lot of money if you export it haha

 

I've got a city like that on another region, raking in similarly ridiculously amounts of money. Harder to make money off an education city. Though, with my edu level, I could put down a recycling center, rake in alloy and plastic, and make processors and then TV's. I'll hopefully do that soon.

 

For those who are raking in tons of money, can you please help out a newb on that kind of thing? Playing in sandbox mode I can maybe generate a couple thousand, but I can't really get far, and I'm not too sure how to export.

 

I too wish to know how this game is in comparison. Not graphics wise, just game play wise. I truly enjoyed the way 2000 had it's set-up to build cities. Does this one keep you entertained for quite awhile?

 

It does. There are many different strategies you can take. My biggest complaint would have to be the smallish city sizes, but if you own multiple cities in a region, it's not too big of a deal.

Hmmmmm.... not sure if kicked out of region or SimCity servers have failed me yet again. My city is gone! I can't find the region! Aaarrrggghhh!!

 

Hmm, I sent you an invite just incase, but it says you were on it 7 hours ago for me. Looks like your going for the tourist city which might work, not got much expertise in that unfortunately. Only good at gathering raw materials, which i suggest you do, since you should have quite a lot I think.

 

Thanks for that. I am back at my city, but I'm finding this game extremely frustrating. I add things like nuclear power plants and when I go back... *poof* it's gone. I add water treatment plant but the city doesn't recognize the extra capacity. This is getting to be quite common. I feel like there's not point in doing anything now because next time I go to my city, I have to figure out what is still there that I did before and why my city is falling apart when only two days ago it was fantastic.
