Wow, Unreal Engine 3 looks really impressive, and that's just the Xbox 360 version! Crytek better pull their act together and create impressive technology that not only looks amazing, but also plays amazingly, like Epic Games has done with the Unreal Engine. Gears of War 2 is going to be amazing!

I love the soft body physics, that's sweet. I think when the Cryengine has had as much dev time as the Unreal engine we'll see even more amazing things.

I really can't believe you went there dude, you've got a pair, that's for sure.

Anyway, this isn't a new engine, it is an update to Unreal Engine 3.

Heck, just last night I was playing Unreal 3 on my computer (off of Steam) and that game looks freaking AWESOME. Plus, I was able to jack up every single setting as high as it would go and I STILL got decent 30+ FPS. I don't know of any other modern first person shooter engine where I can do that, except maybe for Source.

So yeah, I am excited about the update, but you guys should be seeing what the engine can do NOW. The graphics are especially impressive after playing a lot of UT 2k4.

lol Even if I max out Unreal Tournament 3 the game is way too fast (definitely over 80fps). That's why I've got 16xQ AA on, too ;).

Really? 6 2 ? heh, thats a strange number to cap it at... Maybe you have vsync on? Although I thought vsync caps at 30 fps. A setting for your graphics card?

What do you mean 'too fast?' Higher frame rate should just mean it runs smoother.

The game played amazingly fast, as if it was running at over 200 frames per second, which plays way too fast for such a fast-paced game

Most definately you have Vsync enabled...
that means that your game is capped at your max monitor refresh rate, which should be aproximately 60~63 Hz...

    :)

The game shouldn't be 'faster' with a higher framerate, just smoother. How unfair would that be for online players if those with higher frame rates were running at a higher speed? Doesn't make sense. Of course, if you frame rate is dipping below 20 fps, you will be at a disadvantage due to choppiness/stuttering.
